I. Born on 9 April 1893 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Sankrityayan’s childhood name was Kedarnath Pandey. His father was Govardhan Pandey and mother Kulwanti.
II. The primary education of Rahul admission was made near the village. Rahul Ji was also married in his childhood.
III. Rahul Ji did not want to get married and due to this he had abandoned his home as a teenager and after that, he went to a monastery and started living like a monk.
IV. At the age of 14, he moved to Calcutta and was supposed to acquire knowledge, so he started getting knowledge in Calcutta. Wherever he went, he used to learn the language and mix with the people there.
V. Rahul Ji did not like to be called Mahapandit and he always used to say that take the waist, future strollers, the world is eager to welcome you.
VI. Rahul Ji knew 36 languages and went to study Sanskrit in Banaras and also studied from Agra. He then worked as a missionary in Lahore and was also a supporter during the independence movement.
VII. Rahul Ji was honored in Sahitya Akademi Award in the year 1958 and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the year 1963, but today the government may still be fond of remembering him. Today’s children hardly know his name.
VIII. Rahul Sankrityayan wrote about 150 texts on different subjects without pursuing higher education and made many trips in his life.
