Kabir says because our elders didnt like it, Zara says if our elders were here today then they would have allowed women to go there because mosques have good environment than malls where women go today, women clap for Zara. Women leader says this case is between husband and wife, they can never go against each other, dont fool us, husband will win always. Zara says we are fighting this case as member of this board. Women head says that you both are husband and wife so we dont want you to lead this case. Zara says its not about me, its about women who have the right to go to mosques. Women leader says then you have to promise us to stay away from your husband so he cant distract you. Kabir says we are not here to solve husband-wife issue but a case. Zara recalls how she promised Kabir to not leave his side. Zara says okay Kabir and Zara wont be married, I announce that till this case goes on, Zara and Kabir will not live like husband and wife, they wont live together, wont talk outside of committee but I will fight this case for women of this city. Kabir is stunned. Irfan asks to start this case. Zara says women from whole India have signed petition to allow women to pray in mosques. She shows them video messages of women asking for rights. Kabir says great but I want to tell a hadith, one woman asked our Prophet that she wanted to pray with him, he said that you should go to your neighborhood, to your house and pray there.. after this there is no argument left for women to go to mosques. So…the women were paid after all…. I fail to see these women’s logic as to why Kabir and Zara should not be in close proximity to each other, what is this separation going to prove as to why women aren’t allowed to pray in the mosques? Seriously..I’m so ashamed of people who still propagate this kind of teachings, no wonder we Muslims face so much scrutiny and ridicule when it comes to the equality between men and women in Islam…..and the religion is still viewed as being unfair to women, I don’t care which way you look at it, women should be allowed inside the mosques, like in my country, where we are free to pray for entire Ramadan month including the Taraweeh prayer, for Jumma namaaz and the entire year as well….coming to the serial, I’m betting that Nilofer will try to cozy up to Kabir if Zara stays away too long…btw..been trying to remember which serial this actress was in before and if I’m wrong, somebody correct me…..was she not the original Tanveer from Qubool Hai, after which she was replaced???
I love Zara’s replies to all of Kabir’s questions …good answers….
Salma you have only the one child, which happened to be your daughter. It seemed if you had a son also only allah knows what you would have done to Zara. Sometimes in life you shouldn’t listen to your parents. Always question them. Some parents don’t have the best interest at heart for their children.
I decided to leave my parents home, my dad already knew that I decided to move in my new home. That he bought for me.
The rest of my family didn’t know that my dad bought me a house.
My dad wanted to leave after he dies, but I realised its best for me to do this now.
A girl can leave her parents home, if she doesn’t find support. Allah does allow this. You can look for yourself.
I do understand women like salma and my own mother. They got kicked out, rejected from their own family. Because they are girls. These women then take it out on their own daughter.
I told my rest of my family, on the weekend. My mother was shocked, but wasn’t surprised. She was angry at my dad, because he give to much power to me. My dad reply was, I did the right thing as a father. She has to learn to live without us. She is not going to get support from you or your son.
When I left, I did tell my mother if she needs anything just to let me know.
This is a big step for me, I know that some of you might say, she is your mother. You don’t hurt your mother.
But I couldn’t live with her any more. Life with her is difficult, maybe you well understand one day.
I have moved in, it’s not bad, I have rented upstairs apartment, they are a nice family. To get to my work place is easier. But my dad decided to move in with me. He doesn’t want me to be own my own. Life doesn’t work the way you want. This is why women should stand on their own feet.
So i will only comment on your relations with your mother as i’m not qualified to comment on anyone elses issues with their respective faiths.
Sister, living in the west as i do (Canada) i was blessed to have two wonderful parents…We were all encourged to go out into the world and make it our own Married or not, i left home when i was 20 lived a fairly good life i think, didn’t accomplished great things but i am content, Always kept in contact with my Mom and Dad, went home to visit frequently but never moved back home till my father died in 03 leaving my mother devastated…as with their generation it was the man that handled the finances so i went home for a year to help my mother transition and to learn to take hold of the household accounts etc..then my mom was diagnosed with liver cancer and passed in 07…mothers are complicated they Mother us the way that they were Mothered and sometimes fate hands us bad or woefully lacking parents. I’m glad to read that you are bucking tradition and making your own way…there is nothing more satisfying then doing for yourself and not depending on anyone else, you sound like such a strong woman and i hope you find peace one day with your mom.
Yes Sister…that’s why it’s important for girls to get an education so that they don’t depend on anyone for a dollar. Even though I don’t know you personally, I support you in this matter of judgement. I understand fully what you’ve said… Not all mothers are for their daughters, my own niece is a victim of such a mother but she’s the one I know who will give a glass of water to her mother one day. Your father…may Allah bless him for making it possible to have your own roof to sleep under. In the Indian families in my country, a lot of this inequality does exist but I have a son and a daughter …and I made sure that my daughter got an education and is earning her own money, bought her own car and enjoy life while in my house till she marries. I love my children EQUALLY… As for this serial, sometimes I believe that Ayesha loves Zara more than Salma… Be strong dear…be thankful that you have your education, which happens to be the window to all your opportunities.
Not just in religion, but in most part of life, women have to prove themselves five times over to be thought of as equal in rights, it reminds of gender and ideology break up. Resolute Zara. Will she face harsher questions and scrutiny? I sure hope not.
I have a question, why is Nilofer present at the Sharia Board meeting? Isn’t that meeting supposed to be confidential or can anyone just popped in to hear confidential matters being debated? She is not one of the group of women asking for the right to pray at a mosque and yet these so called hardliners who sits on the Board and even the stoic Kabeer allowed her to be there. I know that his mother ask him to take her but please tell me what happened to his beliefs, by that i mean, when in one of the earlier episodes Zara shook his hands he proceeded to wash them right there and then, stating that only women in his family are allowed to touch him, but he’s now driving around and escorting an unmarried woman and even better a total stranger to the Sharia Board meeting, again i find that this defys logic. It seems to me that there’s one set of rules for Zara and another for other women.
I just saw your second posting Naz, so i will say this in a typical Indian family, mothers do favour their sons, my mother has two children, my brother and I and i can tell you that she favours him, he’s her eyeball as we say and everyone knows it. My cousin who is my mother’s sister daughter goes through the same thing as me, our mothers only sees their sons, as far as they are concerned their sons are it. Sometimes it does get to us the way we are treated but we try to take each day as it comes, less stress.
In todays world men and women. boys and girls are treated same. alot of benefits are given to girls to promote and encourage them. i do understand this discrimination is in the rural areas. but here the debate is different. it is on faith, difference of opinion between man and wife. and i dont think a true husband and wife who love their partners these things should affect them or their relationships.
but where there is no love and ego clashes – it does lead to the road of destruction.
the makers of this show ishq subhan allah – are promoting love, and if its love – then nothing can come against love or separate.
else the show should have been named Nazariya – if all it displays is about their thinking.
kabir and zara are 2 beautiful individuals, there are some misconceptions and difference in thought because of the upbringing. but may the right and the truth in each matter win and make the other one understand the same. at times zara will have to change her views at times kabir will have to change his point of view. it is not about being famous or winning a battle.
and this kabir and zara should understand, they are fighting not to win and who is the winner but for what is genuinely right
is kabir so dumb – to think like this… win and loose.
zara should not try to prove herself right. TIME will prove who is right and wrong
