Bigg Boss’ house is a house of controversies. This time it’s making the headlines not because of controversies which take hue in the house itself, this time the house is in news for it’s concept of Bed Friends Forever (BFF) too. As per this concept launched to rake in the TRPs, one male and one female will be sharing the bed for the entire season to come.
This concept has sparked a debate in the outside world as people are questioning the move of the makers in the light of cultures and ethics. #Boycott_Bigboss was already trending on Twitter since last evening and now adding to the drama is the Confederation of All India Traders, CAIT which is against the concept of BFF.
Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javdekar has now urged a ban on the show. As per a report in The Hindu Business Line, the trader’s body stated that our country’s traditional and cultural values are at stake in the lust of TRP and profits. As per them the concept is entirely immoral.
The secretary of CAIT, Praveen Khandelwal was quoted as saying, “In the current show, the concept of ‘Bed Friend Forever’ is highly deplorable and is against all moral ethics of the television world. The makers of the show have forgotten that it is the prime time slot on TV when this show is telecast and people of all age groups watch the show.”
Well, we didn’t expect something like this to happen. Although the show is a part of many controversies, moral grounds have never been questioned for seeking a ban on the show altogether.
What do you think? Is the concept immoral?

I agree. We should not imitate western culture. BFF concept is a bad idea. They need to respect women.
rape capital of the world and you are talking about morality, culture and tradition. the only people who would be against this is someone who has their head in the gutter.
So this is an issue, but people who commit rape crimes are always let loose? Its ok to show men getting away with raping women? Of women being traumatized from abuse? Of men suffering from abuse or any other harrassment?
This is so stupid. For people here saying “don’t imitate western culture” are silly. Western culture is already being imitated and has been imitated for years. If that’s the issue, stop showing vulgar scenes in movies and shows. Stop showing couples kissing. Stop with dirty jokes. Stop shows like BB, MTV India shows, stop American movies from playing in India. Or better yet, people who are judging stop watching.
The idea isn’t bad, but the thinking ahead is bad. We are in a modern time, it is time to accept that. I understand some things are not acceptable… but stop shaming everything that happens. Times have changed. Half the people who point fingers don’t want to change themselves and their mindset. Being sanskaari is not always about “he/she does not drink” “he/she does not go partying” “he/she does not talk to the opposite s*x” NO. If he/she is bad from the heart, that person is NOT sanskaari. I know many people who go out and enjoy themselves but they never have anything bad in their hearts. I know many people who are always so busy proving themselves to be good people, but are SO EVIL from the heart.
