In the midst of the ongoing global pandemic, while our economy has suffered major blows, there is one sector which is struggling way too much. And it is the entertainment industry. The shoots were on a halt for almost two months and many members of cast and crew lost their jobs owing to the same.A major financial crisis has gripped everyone and owing to the same, we hear that many shows will not make their way back to the screens. Shows like Beyhadh 2, Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai, Ishq Subhan Allah amongst many others had bid adieu.
Now, as per the recent reports, Colors TV show Vidya has also been terminated and won’t return back post the lockdown. The show starred Meera Deosthale and Namish Taneja in the lead roles and Producer Mahesh Pandey took it to his Instagram account to share this heartbreaking news.
In his long post, he mentioned that he got a call on 1st June that his show Vidya is being terminated with immediate effect. He mentioned that it came as a shock to him as well and added that the show was affected due to Covid-19.
His post read, “Good Bye VIDYA. On 1st June 2020, I got a call that our Show VIDYA is being terminate with immediate effect… I was shocked and felt really bad. I had a lot of questions. Why such a decision so suddenly? Since Vidya started, we have been a slot leader at 7 P.M. Vidya’s story is still incomplete. She has not become a teacher yet. I was a perplexed and rattled. I sat down and then realized, Vidya was affected by Corona. It’s a Covid 19 death. There is no other reason for her premature demise.
Anyway, the journey of 163 episodes was beautiful. Vidya might have been an uneducated teacher but she surely taught me a few things. Vidya was my 1st solo production. People often say that you love your first child the most, and on the same thought, Vidya will always be very special for us all at Mahesh Pandey Productions.
Thank You Team Colors and especially Swati, Sakshi, Arjya, Harsha, Ramya and Navin … You guys have been with me through thick and thin in this journey.”
