As of late, Barrister Babu fans have preached Chandrachur’s character. They believe that Chandrachur loves Bondita more than Anirudh and takes a stand for her where Anirudh fails to do so.
However, this is far from the truth. Chandrachur, to put it simply, is nothing more than a manipulator. He is also an abuser. He hurts his wife, Tupur, and is the cause of the enmity between the two villages. He is the one who killed Tupur’s parents. He is the one who is responsible for Binoy’s condition. He is the standard of an aggressive male predator.
Chandrachur, contrary to the beliefs of the viewers, has no hidden good side in him. He is a person concerned with the benefits the outcome has for him.
He is not respectable towards women and wants no good for them. The only exception is Bondita, whom he is obsessed with. Even then, the notable thing is that he doesn’t want Bondita. He wants the image of Bondita he has created in his head, that is, of a traditional quiet wife whose sole purpose in life is to please him and have kids with him. The version of Bondita he holds in his head is different from who Bondita truly is.
Chandrachur is an example of the ‘nice guy’ trope in fiction. A nice guy is a romantic by heart and will go to any lengths to pursue the woman he loves, even if it means hurting the woman. He is in constant denial of the woman’s feelings. He will refuse to take a no. A ‘no’ means a ‘convince me’ for him. He will also ignore what the woman wants. Her opinions, her beliefs, and her desires are not a concern for him. He only cares about about getting the woman. The nice guy is not so nice after all.
Chandrachur is the same.
He doesn’t want Bondita to do anything he disapproves of and be a submissive wife. For attaining this, he will go to any lengths.
Bondita’s consent and wishes do not matter to him. Even after being aware of Bondita’s love towards Anirudh, he wants her to be his and creates barriers between the two.
When Bondita agrees to become a Sanysasini in front of the Panchayat, Chandrachur is disdained. Not because Bondita would never be able to fulfil her life’s dream of becoming a barrister, but because if she becomes a Sanyasini, he could never wed her. Anirudh, however, is concerned about Bondita losing her identity and future with it. Which is why he wishes Bondita would say no to becoming a Sanyasini.
Later, he makes a deal with Trilochan. When the deal of Bondita’s marriage comes into question, he agrees and lies to Thakumaa and Sumati that Trilochan wants Bondita to marry Chandrachur only. He is aware this will hurt that Bondita, but he doesn’t care.
In conclusion. Chandrachur does not prevent Bondita because he sees her as a family member, like her mom and her sister, Tapur, do. He is doing that so he can force her into marriage with him and have kids with him. He doesnโt want a bright future for her. He just wants her to have a future with him.
It is crucial for everyone to realize that and stop defending him and his actions.
A manipulator is still a manipulator.
An abuser is still an abuser.
One act of kindness doesn’t make him better. Being nice to one particular person for his own gains doesn’t make him a better person. He is an antagonist for a reason and should not be romanticized.
Anirudh is respectful to all women, while Chandrachurโs respect only extends to Bondita, whom he wants to marry.

Some people were saying that now, Bondita is like Saudamini… Do you agree with it??

If the answer is no, please post an update showing the difference between Bondita ( badi and Manorama track time) and Saudamini..
@Pranbirlover Consider it done! I don’t think she is the same as Saudamini, to be honest. Excited to write an article on that.

Hey, don’t worry. I am sure Barrister Babu will not go off air. This is part of the reason every episode is ending on a cliffhanger these days. The makers are trying to increase audience retention and from the way the events have turned, the TRP will surely increase.
You do not need to worry yourself. Stay hopeful. ^_^
