New shows coming in and some going off-air is the only constant in showbiz. Something similar is happening with Star Plus’ Chikoo Ki Mummy Dur Kei as the show is slated to go off-air in four months. The show was launched around four months ago and featured actors like Paridhi Sharma, Vaishnavi Prajapati, and Himanshu Malhotra in pivotal roles.
Paridhi, who essays the lead role of Nupur in the show talked about it in an interview with ETimes TV and shared, “It is very disappointing. I have not got an official confirmation on the show wrapping up but if the news is true, then it is very sad. It is also the nature of the television business. It is quite unpredictable what will work for a longer time and what will not.”
She added, “Our show was telecast in the early evening slot and therefore we lost out on good viewership. Also, it needed to be given a fair chance and some more time to connect with the viewers. People are yet to warm up to early evening entertainment on television. If audiences are not ready to watch a show in an early evening slot, nothing much can be done. We have all given it our best and there is still time for the show to wrap up, so we are all working hard.”
Chikoo Ki Mummy was a remake of a Bengali show Maa…Tomay Chara Ghum Ashena. The show revolved around a three-year-old girl Payal who gets kidnapped and is separated from her family. The girl eventually grows up to be a dancer.

Is Chiku going to reunite wit her parents after she has grown up?? then the viewers will be disappointed why let Mini enjoys Chiku’s parents n all her family relationships when she is mistreating Chiku??? Chiku is kind enough to allow her to stay as Payal?? Maybe tat is the reasons why no viewership?
I totally agree. We as viewers are tired of negativity always winning in shows. What are they teaching others? Mini should not even be allowed in that house noh the family. It’s a very nice show, but watching another negativity show is not something I want in my life now.
