Colors’ show ‘Thapki Pyaar Ki 2’ recently witnessed some major changes where the lead actress Jigyasa Singh quit the show owing to medical reasons. Now actress Prachi Bansal has been roped in to essay the titular role of Thapki.
Actress Rachana Mistry who essays the role of Hansika in the show talked about missing Jigyasa on the sets in a recent interview with India Forums and shared that she and her are friends for a long time as they were co-stars in Colors show ‘Shakti: Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ too. Since then their friendship only grew stronger.
She said, “Of course, the show has been affected by the same because the very first name and face that you can visualize when I say the word ‘Thapki’ is that of Jigyasa. She has been Thapki for a long time and has given a stellar performance thus her exit has surely affected the show but all of us are coping with it. Even the audiences are being considerate and we’re hoping for the best”.
Rachna further added, “When I heard about the information that Jigyasa will have to quit the show, I was in denial for a long time. I was hoping that things will work out. However, it didn’t and she had to leave. I’m deeply saddened by the fact that she isn’t around. Whenever I pass by her room on the set, it hurts to know that she is not in the room anymore. A lot of videos of us crying on her last day on the sets have gone viral and I feel that pretty much sums up the bond that I had with her. Having said that, we’re great friends and we’re in touch with each other. I miss her a lot but she’s always around to guide me and pen her love to me”.
She concluded by saying, “It is still sinking in as at times when I’m on set I feel like Jiggu will walk into my room and say ‘Hello Sundari’. It is difficult and I’ll take time to get the hang of it. Everyone on the sets is wishing for her speedy recovery.”
