Soul Mate (Learning About Each Other) Part 28

Drishti, Rakshit, Romi, Rashi and Daksh are all sitting in the hall, chatting among them. Rakshit is trying to speak to Drishti but she is not giving attention to him. Rashi gives Romi a push on the shoulder.

Rashi: Romi suru kare?
Romi shall we start?

Romi: Hmm.

Rashi: Tu thik hai na? Dhyan kaha hai?
Are you ok? What are you thinking?

Romi looks at Drishti and Rakshit for once then looks at Rashi and smiles.

Romi: Sab thik hai.
Everything is fine.

Then he looks at everyone speaks with a excited tone.

Romi: To fer guys suru karte hai.
So guys let’s start.

Drishti and Rakshit stops their fighting and gives attention. So does Daksh looking up from the papers. Rashi looks at him.

Rashi: Daksh bhai abhi to office k kaam maat karo yaar.
Daksh bhai at least don’t do office work now.

Daksh distributes the papers between Romi and Rashi one each and keeps one for him.

Daksh: Kisne bola main office k kaam kar raha hoon? Main bhi serious hoon.
Who said I am doing office work? Even I am serious.

Rashi: Ap to kuch jada hi serious hain, question paper lekar agaye.
You turned out way too serious, you ended up bringing question paper.

Rakshit: Kaisa question paper? Aur Daksh tu ye in logo k sath kya drama kar raha hai? Subah bhi inke team mein shamil tha. Inka to koi kaam kaj hai nehi, par tu bhi?
What question paper? And Daksh what are you doing with these two? You were part of their team in the morning too. They don’t have any job, but you too?

Daksh: Bhai manta hoon ki main office mein apke sath kaam karta hoon par hoon main abhi bhi apka chota bhai.

Rakshit: Thik hai thik hai. Ab tum logo ka jo bhi drama jaldi pura karo, mujhe need araha hai. Kal office hai.

Romi: To jabse aplog ka shadi announce hua hai tab se ek ke baad ek drama hote jaraha hai. Normal to kuch hoi nehi raha. To ab itne din baad jab finally sab kuch normal laag raha hai to humne socha thora quality time spent karte hai.
So from the time you guys announced your wedding from then one after another drama is going on. There is nothing normal happening. So after finally all theses days today when everything seems normal we thought we would spend some quality time.

Rashi: Abhi hum jo karenge wo to sabse pehle karna chaihie tha par ap logo k mamle mein to sab kuch ulta hi hota hai. Anyways ab aplogo k hum English mein compability test lenge aur sidhe bhasa mein pakayenge.
Now what we are going to do we should have done this one in the start but everything is always happens wrongly in your case. Anyways we are going to do a compability test of yours, in other words we will tease you.

Three of them laughs. Rakshit sighs.

Daksh: Pehla sawal. Ek dusre ka favorite color kaunsa hai?
First question. Tell us each others favourite color?

Drishti and Rakshit looks at each other.

Drishti: Blue.

Rakshit nods. Drishti tries to signal him his favorite color but Rakshit doesn’t notice.

Daksh: Bhabi ap cheating karne ki koushis kar raha hai kya? Pehlai sawal hua abhi.
Bhabi are you trying to cheat? It’s just the first question.

Drishti: Nehi to.
No way.

Daksh: To fer bhai jaldi batau.
Then bhai answer fast.

Rakshit thinks for sometime. He remembers how Drishti made him wear pink shoes in the morning.

Rakshit: Pink?

Drishti: Seriously?

Rashi: Matlab galat jawab.
So wrong answer.

Romi: Bhai kya kar rahe ho, dhyan do.
Bhai what are you doing, concentrate.

Rakshit: Next.

Romi: Fine. Next question on the list favorite ghoomne k jagah.
Fine. Next question on the list is favorite place to go.

Drishti: Pari ko lekar garden jana.
To take Pari to the garden.

Rakshit: Right.
He looks at Drishti being surprised.

Daksh: Bhai ap ki bari.
Bhai it’s your turn.

Rakshit remembers the time Drishti took him to the tree decorated with kites and said how important that place is to her.

Rakshit: Wo park mein pond k pass ek tree hai….

Drishti: Wo jaga mere liye special hai par favourite ghoomne ki jagah nehi hai.
That place is special for me but it’s not my favorite place for roaming.

Romi: Ye bhi galat.
Even this one is wrong.

Rashi: Ek dusre k subah k pehla kaam kya hai bataiye.
Fine. Tell us what the other person do first thing in the morning.

Drishti: Mr. Shergil to chai pite hai.
Mr. Shergil takes tea.

Rakshit looks at Drishti and smiles.

Rakshit: Aur Mrs Shergil mere liye chai lekar ati hai.
And Mrs Shergil brings tea for me.

Drishti: Galat. Main Pari ko check karti hoon.
Wrong. I check Pari.

Romi: Hattrick ho gaya apka bhai.
Bhai it’s a hattrick for you.

Drishti: Maine bhi hattrick ki, upar se mera answer to sahi hai.
Even I did hattrick, overall my answers were all right.

Daksh: Agla sawal, favorite food.
Next question, favorite food.

Drishti: Inko fried rice accha lagta hai.
He likes fried rice.

Romi: Ek aur sahi jawab. Chalie bhai ap ek aur galat jawab dejiye.
Another right answer. Now bhai give us another wrong answer.

Rakshit: Tum log to soch hi liya ki mera jawab galat hoga.
You guys have already decided that my answer will be wrong.

Rashi: To ap sahi jawab dejiye na.
Then you give the right answer.

Rakshit: De raha hoon.
I’m giving.

Rakshit looks at Drishti, trying to guess.

Rakshit: Ice cream, chocolate?

Drishti gives him a glare.

Rakshit: Come on, ye to sabko accha lagta hai.

Rashi: Matlab apko sach mein nehi pata tha, guess laga rahe the.

Daksh: Koi baat nehi bhai, there’s always the next question. Ap ek dusre k ek favorite time pass k tarika bataiye.

Drishti murmurs to herself.

Drishti: Inki adat to mujhe din raat tarna hai.
His habit is staring at me day and night.

Romi: Di jor se boliye, sab ko sunna hai.
Di speak louder, every one wants to hear.

Drishti: Inki adat hai…. Mera matlab pass. Mujhe nehi pata.
His habit is…. I mean pass. I don’t know.

Rashi: Whoa bhabi ne first pass ki hai. Bhai apka chance hai isbar, sahi jawab dekar apna izzat bacha lijiye.
Whoa bhabi did her first pass. Bhai this is your chance, give the right answer and save your reputation.

Rakshit: Ye bahut asan hai. Mrs Shergil ki favorite time pass hai mujhse har baat ko lekar ladna, jhagra karna.

Drishti: Ap khudko kuch jaida hi importance nehi de raha hai? You know what, ye actually inke favorite time pass hai. Mere sath ladna.

The others nods in agreement. Rakshit bends towards Drishti a bit and whispers.

Drishti gives a deadly glare, Rakshit gulps.

Rakshit: Next.

The others looks at Rakshit, he nods. They then waits for Rakshit’s answer. Rakshit looks at Drishti and thinks about their first meeting and the accident.

Daksh: Well.

Rakshit: Office ka pehle din?
The first day of office?

Drishti laughs.

Drishti: Itna bhi khas nehi tha. Apne jo hungma karke mujhe confuse kia tha.
It wasn’t that special. The way you confused me creating a ruckus.

Rakshit: Thik se yaad karo hungama kisne kia tha.
Remember properly who creates the ruckus.

Romi interrupts them before they start fighting again.

Romi: Thik hai thik hai sabko pata hai pehle din sref kuch misunderstanding hua tha. Main point hai bhai ne fer se galat jawab dia. Ab hum age barte hai agla sawal k sath.
Fine fine everyone knows that on the first day some misunderstanding happened. The main point is bhai again gave wrong answer. Now we should move forward with the next question.

Drishti scolds Romi.

Drishti: Rukh, agla sawal. Kya, KBC chal raha hai? Pehle bata sabko pata hai matlab kya?

Drishti looks at Rakshit.

Drishti: RK.

Romi: Bhai itna to pata hai apko? Apki biwi k best friend kaun hai?Bhai you at least have to know this much right? Who is your wife’s best friend?

Drishti gives a victorious smile.

Drishti: Pakka nehi pata.
Definitely he doesn’t know.

Rashi: Waise bhabi shadi pe apne bulaiya bhi nehi kisiko.
Well bhabi you hadn’t called anyone in the wedding either.

Drishti murmurs: Main to soch raha tha shadi hogai nehi.
I was thinking the wedding won’t happen.

Drishti: Jaldbazi mein kisiko bula nehi paya.
I couldn’t ask anyone in hurry.

Daksh: Bhai kaha kho gaye ap? Jawab dijiye.
Bhai where did you got lost? Give the answer.

Rakshit looks at Drishti and thinks about the time he called Drishti’s best friend Disha at office to learn about Drishti’s incomplete dream.

Rakshit’s Pov

Ab kya karu. Jawab mujhe pata hai par agar bata diya to ye hajar sawal karegi. Aur finally apni dost se baat karke ise pata chal jayega ki main iske dream k barein mein janta hoon. Bahut risk hai. Drishti iss baat ko bilkul sahi tareeka se nehi lega.
Now what am I supposed to do. I know the answer but if I give it she will ask so many questions. And in the end by talking to her friend she will come to know that I know about her dream. It’s too risky. Drishti won’t take this in a good way.

Rakshit: She is right, I don’t know.

Three of them sighs. Drishti gives mocking surprise look.

Drishti: Kuch guess karne ki koushis bhi to kar sakte the. Sidha mana kar dia.
You could have at least tried to guess something. You directly refused.

Rashi: Ab ek dusre ko favorite flower hi bata dijiye.
Now at least tell each others favorite flower.

Drishti: White lily.

Rakshit: White rose.

Both of them answers the same time and gets surprised and looks at each other. They keeps staring at each other.

Romi: Iska kya samje? Kya finally koi answer dono eksath sahi dia?
What should we understand this? Did finally both of them answered a question correctly together?

Both of them looks at the others and answers again.

Rakshit: Right.

Drishti: Wrong.

This time Rakshit gets surprised and looks at Drishti but she doesn’t look at him. Romi sighs.

Romi: Bhai this is not going good. Apka to sare jawab galat ho rahe hai. Iss tara iss compability test ka result bahut kharab hoga.
Bhai this is not going good. All your answers is going wrong. This way the result of the compabality test will be too bad.

Daksh: Ap log sach mein pyar karte ho na ek dusre se?
Do you guys really love each other?

Rashi: Aisa lag raha hai ki sref ek tarfa pyar hai.
It seems like only one sided love.

Both Drishti and Rakshit gets shocked on their sudden comments. They looks at each other. Then at the others who doesn’t seem very happy.

Rakshit: Tum logo ka sawal hi galat hai. Jo log long time relationship mein rehte unko ye sab batein pata hoga ek dusre k barein mein. Hum dono jante hi kitne din ek dusre ko, itne jaldbazi mein shadi ho gaya. 10 saal baad ana ye sare sawal puchne k liye.
Your questions are wrong. The people who are in a relationship for a long time they knows everything about each other. We only met each other, and the wedding happened so fast. Come after 10 years and then ask these questions.

Daksh: Par bhabi ko to sab pata hai bhai. Hisab kiyun nehi mil raha hai fer?
But bhabi knows everything. Then why it’s not making sense?

Rakshit: Bola na tum log sawal galat puch rahe ho. Hum pyar karte hai par humare journey bas abhi suru hua.
I told you you are asking the wrong question. We love each other but our journey started only recently.

Daksh: To thik hai kuch aur puch te hai. Ab tak out of syllabus tha, par ab syllabus mein se puchenge. Propose kisne kia tha?
Then fine let’s ask some different question. Until now we have been asking questions from out of syllabus, but now we will ask from syllabus. Who proposed?

Both of them remembers the time when Rakshit proposed Drishti in front of the press and family members. Both of them points at Rakshit.

Romi: Kaha par kia tha?
Where did you?

Drishti&Rakshit: Park mein.
In the park.

Both of them looks at each other for answering at the same time and same thing, they smiles at each other.

Rashi: Kab kia tha?
When did you?

Drishti and Rakshit answers again.

Drishti: Wo press conference wale din.
That press conference day.

Rakshit: Jis din Shikhar aur Divya ek dusre ko propose kia tha.
The day when Shikhar and Divya proposed each other.

Both of them stops realizing they answered differently and looks at each other. Rakshit gives her a “what is this” stare. Daksh smiles.

Daksh: Ab ye kya hai?
Now what is this?

Both of them looks at the others and seeing their confused face they again answers.

Rakshit: Wo press conference wale din.
That press conference day.

Drishti: Jis din Shikhar aur Divya ek dusre ko propose kia tha.
The day when Shikhar and Divya proposed each other.

Rakshit sighs.

Rakshit: Guys sabko pata hai dono din hi kia propose, kaise aur kiyun kia. Confusion kya hai?
Guys everyone knows I proposed both the days, why and how. What’s the confusion?

Romi: Chill, koi confusion nehi hai. Ye bataiye ki pehle movie date pe kisne bulaiya tha?
Chill, there is no confusion .Tell us who first asked on the first movie date?

Both of them remembers how RK proposed them movie tickets.

Drishti&Rakshit: RK.

Rashi: What?

Daksh: Date ap logo ka to RK kiyun puch raha hai? Mujhe samajh nehi araha hai.
If you are going on date then why is RK asking you? I am not able to understand.

Romi: Ek second, maine to aise hi puch lia. Ap logo ne sach mein movie date par gaye hai?
One second, I asked casually. Did you guys really went to a movie date?

Drishti: No.

Rakshit: Actually ek baar RK ne hume do ticket dekar movie dekhne k liye bhej ne ki koushis kia tha. Par hum ultimately gaye nehi the.
Actually one time RK tried to sent us to watch movie by giving us two tickets. But ultimately we didn’t went.

Drishti looks at Rakshit. She remembers how she magically disappeared the tickets and RK and Rakshit couldn’t find it.

Romi: Hmm. Ye akhri sawal. Iske jawab ap khud k taraf se dena, dusre ka dene ka jarurat nehi hai. Ap sabse jada kise pyar karte hai?
Hmm. This is the last question. You have to answer this one for yourself, no need to give the answer for the other person. Whom do you love the most?

Drishti&Rakshit: Pari.

Both of them looks at each other hearing the answer.

Rashi: Romi tujhe kya sach mein laga tha ki ye dono ek dusre ka naam lege?
Romi did you really thought these two will take each others name?

Romi: Sach bolu to thora sa expect to kiya tha.
If I am being honest then I did expect a bit.

Rakshit: Ha to tum logo ka “fun activities” complete? Ab jau main?
Well then is this “fun activities” of yours complete? May I go?

Rashi: Hume bhi uthna chaihie. Bahut raat ho gaya hai.
Even we should go. It’s quite late.

Everyone stands up and goes to their rooms. Drikshit comes to their room.

Rakshit: Kya tha ye sab? Jhoot bol dete ki maine sahi jawab dia. Har bar bolna jaruri tha wrong wrong.
What was all that? You could have lied that I gave the right answer. Is it necessary to say every time wrong wrong.

Drishti: Main jhoot kiyun bolunga? Ye nakli shadi ki jo natak kar rahi hoon yahi bahut hai. Ab kya main khud k pasand na pasand bhi badal du.
Why should I lie? This fake marriage is more then enough. Now am I supposed to change my like and dislike.

Rakshit: Wo to aise bhi kiya. Jhoot kiyun bola ki white rose tumhari favourite flower nehi hai?
You did it anyway. Why did you lied that white roses aren’t your favorite flowers?

Drishti: Apko kisne bola ki white roses mera favorite hai?
Who told you that white rose is my favorite?

Rakshit: Tumhe kisne bola ki white lilies mera favorite hai?
Who told you that I like white lilies?

Drishti: Pata hai mujhe.
I know that.

Rakshit: To bas mujhe bhi pata hai.
Then even I know.

Drishti: Galat pata hai. Mujhe koi bhi flower nehi pasand. Apko baki sare sawalo k tara ye bhi nehi pata.
You know wrong. I don’t like any flowers. You don’t know about this like the all other questions.

Rakshit: Wo mujhe isliye nehi pata ki tum kabhi mujhe khud k barein mein kuch bolti nehi ho. Idhar meri puri history pata kark baithi ho.
I don’t know about that because you never tell me anything about yourself. And on the other hand you know everything about me.

Drishti: Janne ka kuch hai hi nehi.
There is nothing to know.

Rakshit: Seriously abhi bhi tum ye bol rahi ho. Listen, sabke samne hum abhi aisa dikha rahe hai ki hum ek dusre se pyar karte hai. So sref ek ko dusre k barein sab pata hai, that’s not gonna work. Dono ko ek dusre k barein mein pata hona chaihie. Samjhe?
Seriously you are still saying that. Listen, we are acting before everyone that we love each other. So if only one between us know everything about the other, that’s not gonna work. We both have to know everything about each other. Understand?

Drishti: Hmm.

Rakshit: To bolo.
Then speak.

Drishti does not say anything.

Rakshit: Kya hua? Dekho sart k motabek agar main kuch karne k liye bola to tumhe manna parega.

Drishti: Agar ap sart nehi mante to main kiyun manu.

Seeing Drishti still glaring at him, Rakshit changes his tone.

Rakshit: Par mujhe ab meri galti samajh agaya. Age se humesha tumhe trust karunga.
But now I have understood my mistake. I will always trust you from now on.

Drishti: It’s OK.

Rakshit: To ab bolo, favorite color.
So now tell me, favorite color.

Drishti: Black.

Rakshit: Favorite food?

Drishti: Biriyani.

Rakshit: Favorite place.

Drishti: Koi bhi nehi.
No place.

Rakshit: Favorite time pass?

Drishti: Apka sar khana.
To eat your head.

Rakshit: Mujhe patai tha.
I knew that.

Drishti and Rakshit starts pillow fight and runs around the room. Romi is watching them by their window. He remembers what he saw in the office earlier.

Rashi: Kya kar raha hai?
What are you doing?

Romi gets shocked hearing voice from behind him suddenly. Seeing it’s Rashi he calms down. Rashi comes forward and sees Drikshit running around the room. She smiles. Romi fakes a smile.

Romi: Wo main apna room mein jaraha tha ki ye nazara dikh gaya.
Well I was going to my room and suddenly I saw this scene

Rashi: Yaar aj bhai ne kitne galat jawab dia na.
Yaar bhai gave so many wrong answers today.

Romi gets tensed again, he looks at them.

Romi: Hmm.

Rashi: Par jo bhi ho. In logo ko dekh kar ye to pata chal jata hai ki ye dono ek dusre se pyar bahut karte hai. Jo bhi ho, pyar hona jaruri hai, baki sab kuch apne ap thik ho jayega.
But whatever it is. By seeing these guys it’s clear that they are in so love with each other. Whatever happens, it’s important to have love, everything else will turn out fine on it’s own.

Rashi leaves. Romi thinks about what she said and looks at them running around the room like kids. He remembers earlier in the office he saw the same thing. Even when everyone was standing freeze, among them both of them was running around like this way, totally forgeting about the world. Slowly a smile comes on his face.

Romi: Agar pyar hai to baki jo bhi hai apne ap thik ho jayega.
If there is love then whatever else is there it will work out on its own.

He stands there for sometime more, keeps looking at them with adoring eyes. Then another thought comes to his mind, he turns where Rashi went and follows her.

Romi: Rashi tu ye pyar k barein bari bari batein kiyun kar rahi hai? Rukh, chakkar kya hai, kal bhi kuch bol rahi thi.
Rashi why are you giving big lecture about love? Stop, what is going on, you were saying something yesterday too.

Romi goes behind Rashi. Inside the room Drishti stops Rakshit.

Drishti: Wait a second. Ye Romi tab kya bol raha tha, office k first din k baat use pata hai?
Wait a second. What was Romi saying, he knows about what happened at the office in the first day?

Rakshit sighs and sits down on bed.

Rakshit: Dekho isme galti tumhari hai. Pehle din se use sar pe chara kar rekhe ho ki tumhare nazar mein kuch nehi ata. Mujhe pucho maine kya jhela. Pata nehi kaise office k har baat pata kar leta tha aur din raat mujhe tease karta tha tumhe lekar.
Listen it’s your fault. From the first day you are spoiling him that you couldn’t see anything else. Ask me what I have endured. I don’t know how he always managed to find out everything about what happened at office and used to teach me day night about you.

Drishti looks at Rakshit for sometime, then she starts laughing. Rakshit gets surprised at her reaction.

Drishti: Sorry wo bas mujhe office k pehle din ka yaad agaya. Kaise ap mujhse baat karne aye aur maine apke haat mein paper pakra dia. Aur fer bina jane jab apke barien mein apke samne ulta sidha bolne laga. Apka shakal dekhne layek tha.
Sorry I just remembered the first day at office. How you came to talk to me and instead I made you hold paper. And then without knowing I started talking nonsense about you. Your face was a scene to watch.

Drishti keeps laughing.

Rakshit: Ulta sidha nehi mujhe ek ek word yaad hai tumne kya kaha tha.
Not nonsense, I remember word by word what you said.

Drishti: Aur jab mujhe pata chala ki ap Rakshit Shergil hai aur main apkoi apke barein kya kuch nehi bol dia, mere to halat hi kharab ho gaya tha. Kya karna chaihie samajh hi nehi araha tha.
And when I found out you are Rakshit Shergil and I spoke wrong about you before you, I got so tensed. I couldn’t understand what to do at all.

Drishti keeps laughing. Rakshit stares at her for sometime. But her wholehearted laugh reaches to him too. Both of them keep laughing their hurt out. Suddenly Rakshit stops. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He sees Drishti’s body getting transparent while the lights in the room star flickering. He stands and goes to her, he keeps calling her but she almost as if couldn’t hear him. Suddenly she stops too noticing something. She looks at her hands. Her body turns more and more transparent. Almost fading in the air and keep coming back. She looks at Rakshit horrifiedly, he is also looking at her same way. Suddenly she holds her ears and tries to stop listening to something. Rakshit couldn’t understand what it is. He keeps calling her asking what’s wrong but it’s again as if she can’t hear him. She closes her eyes, her expression looks like as if she is in pain. Holdig her ears by her hands she almost sits down on the ground. Her body fades completely at a time. The light flickering stops and Rakshit finds himself alone in the room. He gets scared but the next second Drishti appeared completely from where she disappeared, still holding her ears, eyes closed. Rakshit sighs of relief seeing her and sits beside her. He slowly calls her name. She slowly opens her eyes and ears this time. She looks around the room and then at her hands. Then she looks at Rakshit who tries to smile to assure her everything is fine. She stands up immediately, looks a bit awkward. Rakshit stands up too. But before he could say anything she says she is going to check on Pari and disappears from the room, leaving Rakshit alone again.
