Anjali Arora, who was the youngest contestant of Lock Upp eventually emerged as one of the strongest contenders for the trophy. Her bond with Lock Upp winner Munawar Faruqui was much appreciated and loved by the audience. The fans lovingly called them #Munjali.
Munawar and Anjali were both accused of using each other for the game and creating a fake love angle. During an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Anjali talked about her journey in the show and shared, “The 72 days journey was not easy at all. Lock Upp was a show which was totally different from reality shows. I felt that like other shows they would provide us with at least a few luxuries but inside the Lock Upp house, we did not get any kind of luxury. It was very difficult to survive in the show. We would eat basic food and sleep on mattresses. I am taking back a lot of memories and great experiences. I’ve earned a lot of friends in the journey. Like Munawar, Saisha, Poonam. I am not sure about Poonam maybe she doesn’t want to be friends with me because she reacted in a very different way she met me. Let’s see if she talks will try to mend things.”
When asked about the reason behind her not winning the show, she replied, “Kangana ma’am complimented me for my game during the 4th week and said that guru se aage shishya Nikal rahi hai comparing Munawar and me and I think I did good. I reached Top 3 and I was just a step away from winning the trophy. Yes, I agree I must have lacked a few departments but I’ll make sure to work on my weaknesses so that I emerge stronger.”
Talking about the accusations that Munawar and she portrayed a fake love angle for the show, Anjali said, “Ye logon ki baatein hain… but I know what bond Munawar and I shared. I know mere taraf se kya tha Aur Uske taraf se kya tha… it was just friendship, we are friends and there’s nothing beyond. Log toh kehte he hain… logon ka explain karte nahi phirenge.”
