Baji says to Mastani that it’s Bajirao Ballal’s life and he can’t become a lover, he is not allowed to do that. She says he is convincing himself by saying that and his heart is saying the different thing. She tells him to follow her. Mastani’s step brothers decide to find Mastani in the forest to kill her. He says in order to defeat Baji they need efficient soldiers of Bundelkhand. They call some archers who are expert at killing people with their poisonous arrows. They decide to attack Mastani secretly, even Baji won’t be able to save her. Mastani washes her face near the pond Baji looks at her beautiful face. She teases him saying he should stop staring at her. He denies saying she is having lot of misunderstandings about herself. She says he is still hiding his feelings.

Mastani asks him to take a bath in the pond and they don’t know how many days they have to spend here in the forest. He may get lost here, he says he is habituated with wild life and he has spend a lot of time in forest. She asks him that why he talks in attitude all the time. He also stands still and never leaves the posture for once. He should relax sometimes, does he have back problem? Baji says she should not forget that he is a Peshwa and noone talked to him in this tone before. Mastani laughs and says she doesn’t love this Peshwa Bajirao and no matter what world considers him but he is her Baji. Such arrogance doesn’t suit him. He should laugh and live in the moment.

She tickles him and he tries to stop her but she continues to do that and he laughs wholeheartedly. She says she loved this happiness on his face. He should enjoy the moment till the time he is with her, maybe they won’t get the chance to meet each other again. Life is short so he should live his life to the fullest and enjoy her company. He says she is right, he never laughed like this before. She forwards her hand to him and he holds that. Mastani pushes him into the pond and he calls her mad. He then also pulls her near him and they both get drenched. Mastani comes out of the pond and he gets mesmerized looking at her again. Mastani’s step brothers look for her in the forest.

Baji says soon they will find the nearby village. He walks with Mastani and the latter says it means he will again go to the world where he has to forget smiling and has to obey the rules and regulations strictly. He says these are all illusions, the time they spent together it is nothing but a dream. His reality is he is the Peshwa. Thats his identity. Mastani says but his laughter, their memories these are also real. His sparkling eyes everything she can’t call as dream only. He says his world is different where she will get only hatred. Where he can’t roam freely with her. She says she doesn’t care but if he is with her she can face the whole world.

Mastani hides behind trees and tells Baji to find her. He finds her anklet and says this is not the right time for all this, she should come out and they should leave the forest before sunset. She teases him saying he is scared of spending night with her in the forest. She says he should first tell her that he loves her else she won’t come in front of him. She makes noise with her anklet. He searches for her and she adds he has been fighting since childhood. He never lived his childhood and never played hide and seek so he won’t understand the value of it. It makes Baji sad and he sits down.

Baji recalls how he used to practice sword fighting day and night. He engaged into wars and killed uncountable enemies. He forgot to live his childhood. But Mastani rightly said the truth and today she made him feel alive for real. He further says but this will cause pain nothing else. Their hearts will be broken and he can’t be her Krishna though she has become Radha for him. He can’t give her that love which she is expecting. She says she just wants him to live in the moment only, she wants to cherish these moments forever and she won’t stop him from leaving after that. She will never look back to him. He promises her that without her permission he won’t leave this place. Though at the end he has to leave. She gets emotional and says now they can’t leave the forest as the sunset is over.

Baji and Mastani make beds for themselves at night in the forest, Baji talks to Lord Krishna that he is in a dilemma now. He has his separate world then why Mastani is considering him as her whole world? Kashi lives inside him and he can’t cheat on her in return of her patience and selfless love. But why Mastani loves him so much and her dedication can’t be ignored too. What he can do to balance between them both. What he can do to avoid hurting them both? He gets teary.
