Abhishek Malik to essay the parallel lead role in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’
Actor Abhishek Malik, who rose to fame with his role as an antagonist in Muskuraane Ki Vajah Tum Ho, is now all set to join the cast of Kumkum Bhagya. He will be essaying the parallel lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s longest-running show.
Abhishek talked about it in a recent interview and said, “I’m happy for the opportunity to work again in Ekta ma’am’s show after Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. That show gave me a lot of recognition. I’m thankful to them and looking forward to earning more love and appreciation from the audience for my new role. In the past most of the time I played either a negative or grey-shaded role. But this time for a change I’m playing a positive one. I don’t know how in the future it turns out but currently, I’m enjoying the way it is introduced in the story.”
Abhishek’s character in the show will create a love triangle and bring a twist to the lives of Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar) and Ranbir (Krishna Kaul).
He added, “I’m going to play a prominent role and the audience will see a love triangle in the future. I’m playing the role of Akshay Tandon, who returns to India after completing his education. He is employed in his father’s company of the heroine. It is an amazing role. As an actor, I always enjoy essaying such interesting and promising roles.”
