Payal Gupta on joining the cast of Meet; says, “I am excited to portray a comic-negative role”
Actress Payal Gupta, known for her role as Charmie in the TV show Banni Chow Home Delivery, has now joined the cast of Meet. Payal talked about it in a recent interview and shared that she is thrilled to be a part of this project and playing a negative character with a touch of comedy.
In Meet, Payal will be portraying the character of Pankhuri, who happens to be the sister of the lead character portrayed by actor Syed Raza Ahmed. Describing her role, she shares, “It’s a very interesting character. I will be portraying a greedy woman who harbors the ambition of living a luxurious and effortless life. It’s a negative role infused with comic timing.”
This opportunity allows Payal to explore the comedy genre for the first time, which makes her both nervous and excited. She shares, “I’m truly thrilled about this role as it presents a challenge for me. I’m working hard to prepare for it because making the audience laugh through comedy is no easy task.”
As an actor, Payal aspires to push her limits by taking on diverse roles and exploring various genres. She emphasizes that she doesn’t aim to imitate any particular character played by other actors in the past. Instead, she is focused on presenting a fresh and unique portrayal to her audience. She hopes that they will embrace her performance and says, “I’m ready to fully immerse myself in my role and bring it to life. My aim is to captivate and delight my audience.”
Prior to Meet, Payal Gupta appeared in mythological shows such as Vighnaharta Ganesha and Radha Krishna, showcasing her versatility as an actress.
