Ashish Dixit bids farewell to ‘Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein 2’, citing creative differences
Ashish Dixit, known for his role as Nandan in Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein 2, had high hopes for his character’s trajectory in the show. However, due to creative dissatisfaction with the ongoing storyline, he made the decision to quit. Ashish talked about it in a recent interview and expressed his desire for artistic growth.
He said, “The original concept revolved around a love triangle between two men and a woman. I portrayed Nandan, who, after marrying the heroine, was shown as deceased and returned to find that she had moved on. Seeking revenge, my character embarked on a journey. However, instead of sticking to the original storyline, several creative changes were introduced, and Nandan’s arc was diminished significantly. With the introduction of two time leaps in the show, there was limited room for my character’s development, leading to a sense of stagnation and a loss of heroism.”
He further elaborates, “Rather than waiting for the situation to worsen and feeling suffocated, I made the difficult decision to leave the show. It pained me to witness a well-crafted character being underutilized.”
Ashish intends to take a short break from work before diving back into his career. “I am ready to embrace fresh opportunities that allow me to push boundaries. I am particularly interested in exploring opportunities in the digital space. However, I am open to compelling offers from television that align with my artistic vision,” he concludes.
Ashish bid farewell to the set on July 1, and his final episode aired on July 3.
