Smriti Irani gets candid about her personal life; Opens up on fighting for her children while allowing them to soar
In a candid conversation on Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, Smriti Irani, known for her fierce persona, opened up about her experiences as a mother and the emotional impact it has on her. Coming from a broken family herself, Smriti shared valuable insights on parenting.
She expressed, “I am a product of a broken home. The most significant lesson I learned from that is that I want my children to know that I will fight against any obstacle, even death, to protect them. I believe it’s the greatest assurance a child can have – knowing that they have a parent who will stand up for them, facing the world. As a mother, God has blessed me with the ability to accept that if my children choose to walk away from me, it’s alright because they must have endured enough for me to refrain from asking them to stay. I can fight for them, and I can let them go.”
Smriti emphasized the importance of balancing love and freedom in parenting, stating, “I can love my children unconditionally without constantly hovering over them. It’s crucial to give them space and, at the same time, allow myself to have my own space.”
The esteemed politician is a mother to three children. She tied the knot with Zubin Irani in 2001 and shares two children, Zohr and Zoish, with him. Smriti also embraced motherhood to Zubin’s daughter, Shanelle, from his previous marriage. Shanelle’s grand wedding in February this year witnessed the presence of notable personalities from the entertainment industry, showcasing the Irani family’s joyous celebrations.
Despite her busy political schedule, Smriti often shares glimpses of her family life on social media, providing a glimpse into her cherished moments.
