Actress Sangeeta Odwani is set to make a significant return to television, stepping back into the divine realm as she reprises the role of Goddess Saraswati in ‘Karmadhikari Shanidev.’ Known for portraying the same deity in Devi Adi Parashakti, Odwani shares her excitement about revisiting this revered character.
Reflecting on her new opportunity, she expresses enthusiasm, saying, “In 2020, I thoroughly enjoyed portraying Goddess Saraswati on a mythological show. Now, almost three years later, I have been presented with a similar opportunity in another series. This chance allows me to delve deeper into the essence of Goddess Saraswati, and I’m thrilled to explore and gain more insights about her. She’s described as serene, beautiful, and encompasses profound knowledge of the universe. As the goddess of art, being chosen and cast for such a role fills me with immense pride as an actor.”
Odwani reveals that this marks her return to television after a hiatus of three years, during which she ventured into diverse opportunities across different platforms. She shares, “Following my portrayal of a mythological character on TV in 2020, I desired to undertake a distinct role, perhaps portraying a glamorous character. Thus, I took a break from television and enjoyed exploring other platforms. In 2021, I had the privilege of working on intriguing roles in projects such as the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer ‘The Big Bull’ and ‘Vintage Boys.’ Additionally, earlier this year, I ventured into another web series titled ‘Manghadant.'”
Expressing her reasons for accepting the television role, Odwani elaborates, “When offered this role, I felt compelled to embrace it. I missed being on television, and an opportunity like this portraying Goddess Saraswati was something I couldn’t let slip away. Additionally, I’m also engaged in another TV show, albeit in its initial stages, where confidentiality binds me from revealing further details at the moment.”
