Teri Meri Doriyaan 21st March 2024 Written Episode Update: Akeer Wins A Trophy

I’m really happy for Sahiba that she has a quieter life away from the Brars….I actually don’t even want to see Manveer and company – only maybe Jasleen and Gary, if they are still good and not taking advantage of Angad’s changed character. I just don’t want Sahan to fall in love with other people, but Angad shouldn’t be with Sahiba at the moment either. His eyes seem dead and he’s going to be horrible to her for sure, which I am not looking forward to. Plus, I hate how Simran was basically cheering on her brother’s toxicity when he was beating up those men. At the same time, I felt happy Angad is suffering and so unhappy, but is still impacted by Sahiba’s memories when Simran mentioned her name. What I find most upsetting about his character is that it seems that he’s more upset at Sahiba for losing their child than for Inder’s death. I remember in the hospital scene when Inder died, Angad asked Gary where Sahiba was, in a concerned way, but when Gary said she miscarried, his eyes changed with anger and pain. So basically, he was only supportive of her when she was carrying his child, and no longer worth the same understanding without the baby. I’m not saying Sahiba should hold a candle for Angad, but it would be nice for them to be together if he properly evolves, but first they need to be friends and develop a foundation for their relationship.

At the same time, I don’t want Diljeet and Sahiba together, but he does seem like a great friend to Sahiba and father to Akhir, though I don’t see any chemistry between him and Sahiba, but ITV is capable of anything. If they could show decent chemistry between Kerry in a matter of a few episodes, then they can show it between Diljeet and Sahiba, which I’m expecting, but not looking forward to at all. From everything I have read, it seems like most fans want Diljeet and Sahiba together, so I guess it’s going to be a repeat of YRKKH. Plus, I don’t think the makers would show Sahiba married to Diljeet unless they had the plan for her to fall in love with him….things are so complicated now, it doesn’t seem likely she’ll go back to Angad, especially due to Diljeet’s bonding with Akhir and Angad’s even worse attitude,. Additionally, perhaps Diljeeth being poor but being rich in his heart would teach Angad and the Brars that you can’t buy character and love with money, and Sahiba was never with Angad for the money. Though one thing in today’s episode that I think both Sahan would agree upon is that cheating is bad in terms of parenting their child….Angad like Akhir likes to come first in everything, but I don’t think he would let his son cheat either to win, though he would probably spoil him in other horrible ways.

I wish Diljeeth is just Sahiba’s friend/brother figure or ideally gay. If they show he is gay, though it probably wouldn’t be shown on ITV and would probably be sad for him if he’s in the closet, I don’t mind at all if they drag the Sahan separation on for months and let Akir, Sahiba, and Diljeeth have fun and be happy, until Angad is capable of being a good husband and father and as Sahiba gets her education and establishes a career. Also introducing a gay male character who is not stereotypically feminine could be a breath of fresh air and bring some originality, but again highly unlikely. If they do show a romance between Diljeeth and Sahiba, please show those feelings are mutual from the onset because I want to know what I am getting myself into, instead of hoping for a Sahan reconciliation.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but I just don’t know why they had to destroy Angad’s character. At so many points, the makers could have turned him good for good, but NO. As for YRKKH, I never saw it, but I just saw a few clips of Avinash and Akshara, vs Abhimayu and her. It’s true Avinash and Akshara seemed beautiful together and I’m sure I would have shipped them too, , and I’m sure Abhimanyu was toxic, so the story fit well. Plus, it seems like Abhimanyu and Akshara had many romantic moments, so at least their love story was given some time to develop too before the leap. However, from what little I saw, it also seemed that Harshad, despite being Incredibly handsome (seriously :)), wasn’t a great actor or didn’t really make an impact with his character in the way that Jay Soni did. It seemed like Akshara/Pranali was the central character, so Harshad was a bit disposable, but again, I haven’t seen the show for real, so just going by intuition. However, I can’t imagine this show surviving without VJ and at least Himanshi and VJ’s chemistry, as Sahiba alone doesn’t seem enough to carry the show. I’ve always seen it as Sahan’s story, not Sahiba’s, unlike other shows that revolve around the FL.

I’m conflicted because I know Angad or at least the Angad we know and see even now is wrong for Sahiba, but I do want Sahan together since we never got a proper love story….like there was no resolution or proper romance there for our investment in the story, and agree or disagree, as incompatible as they were, I’m sure most of us were at least watching for them until the leap, otherwise what else was in the show? Plus after watching Katha Ankhahee, I have seen how if proper writing and time is dedicated to a character, even the most toxic character (Viaan) can transform into something beautiful. But again, I can’t have those expectations from a StarPlus show. Let’s see, but there needs to be some proper redemption track for Angad, as the makers destroyed his character. Hopefully, Angad understands the real meaning of love, but not by dying of course.

I’m honestly traumatized after watching this show in 2015 called Tere Sheher Mein (another Star Plus not so classic haha). Same thing happened there, a love story was shown (albeit way more positive than Sahan’s) between the main actress and her friend Mantu, but she got married to some random guy and they fell in love, I think because the actor playing Mantu quit or was forced to turn evil in the story…..needless to say, the show ended within a few months. I was heartbroken as a young watcher and quit watching ITV soaps for years, only watching in full Katha Ankhahee, Meri Hanikarik Biwi, Ishq Mein Marwajan 2, and Love Story 9 months Ki (which ended abruptly during Covid), but all were great ( Ishq Mein Marwajan 2 maybe not so much), had happy endings, and weren’t on air forever, which is actually a plus – we need a one year to 1.5 year cap on soaps. TMD was the first standard ITV drama that I had seen properly in years, and it has been such a disappointment with no happy ending in sight. Moral of the story: Star Plus and ITV are just disappointments and I don’t have the emotional bandwidth for all of this. I’ll still watch for the next few weeks to get a sense of the story and to see if there is redemption for Angad,, but after that will quit if nothing is in sight. Plus, if i come across something interesting, I’m just going to watch shows on Sony or the less popular channels….sometimes the channel produces gems and more realistic stories in which the makers actually appear to care about the viewers’ interest in the show and characters.

The TRP of the show is at 1.7 again this week (based on the Seerat track), so let’s see how the story flows in the next 2-3 weeks because I’m sure it’s all contingent upon the TRP and how the audience receives the leap and the Diljeet – Sahiba – Angad love triangle.

@TMD, in almost each line your expectation was of good Angad ..but unless and untill he encounters independent successful Sahiba with Akeer, he is not going to have any realisation of misdeed he did with Sahiba. But one thing is for sure, show has lost its charm. Just can’t understand, at one point of time show was having TRP of around 2.1, but with sadistic story line they completely ruined it and now with no option left, they copy-pasted adding leap.

Is there an Indian show which not based on negativity, seperation, humilation, abusing, murdering, poisoning, terrorist atacks, bank rubbers, rapes, kidnaping and 2 women fights for a rich man? If there is one, i would like to watch it.

Apparently a new actress will replace the old Keerat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CcD7Hf83ac, so at least Kerry is still a possibility, though I wasn’t really invested in their story. So probably, Garry won’t marry Diljeeth’s sister after all.

I think Daljeet will be a grey character because in yrkkh, Abhinav’s character was so sweet and humble and he would have never taught cheating to his son instead he often asked Abhir to avoid fight with others.
May be after the meeting of Sahan,true colours of Daljeet will reveal true colours and he’s not as good as sahiba believe him to be. He kind of give passive aggressive vibes but I hope that’s not true because in yesterday’s episode sahiba looked actually happy with her new family,the way she talked with the mother and sister of Daljeet seemed like she was talking to her real mother and sister. Now imagine, will that ever be the case with Manveer and Brar family. those people always tried to overpower Sahiba and emotionally manipulate her in the name of Brar khandaan ki izzat and always tried to confine her in their golden cage.
I really hope that the character of Daljeet was as good as of Abhinav, the love between Akshra and Abhinav was so pure and the respect they had for each other. I really loved and shipped them more than the main couple that is of Akshara and Abhimanyu.
Anyways,it’s too early to judge and if the makers really wanted to copy kasauli track then they should handle with maturity and logic by giving good arc to every character and show their perspectives and should avoid unnecessary death of characters or zabardasti ki negativity and toxicity.
