Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, renowned for her portrayal of Roshan in the beloved sitcom “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” has recently made headlines with allegations against producer Asit Modi. She took a bold step by filing a police report, accusing Asit of inappropriate behavior towards her. Additionally, she initiated legal proceedings against producers Sohil Ramani and Jatin Ramani in the preceding year. Now, a significant development has emerged in the case, marking a new chapter in Jennifer’s battle against Asit Modi.
As per reports from the Times Of India, Jennifer sought intervention from the Government of Maharashtra, leading to the involvement of the Local Complaints Committee. In an interview with Etimes, the actress from “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” revealed that official directives have been issued, mandating Asit to settle her pending dues. Furthermore, she disclosed that Asit would incur additional charges for withholding her payments, totaling approximately Rs 25-30 Lakhs. Addressing the harassment aspect, Asit Kumarr Modi has been ordered to pay Rs 5 Lakhs as compensation. The verdict was pronounced a few days before.
Reflecting on the verdict and the harassment case against the show’s producer, Jennifer expressed her disappointment, highlighting Asit Modi’s lack of retribution despite admitting guilt. Moreover, the absence of a chargesheet months after filing the FIR added to her disillusionment.
