Actress Krishna Mukherjee recently opened up on social media about her distressing experience of not receiving payment for her work on the show Shubh Shagun, shedding light on the mental anguish it caused her. Following her initial disclosure, Mukherjee expressed gratitude towards her supporters in a heartfelt video.
In response to criticisms about her sharing cheerful travel and happy moments despite her struggles with depression, Mukherjee addressed the misconception surrounding mental health. She emphasized that depression doesn’t always manifest visibly and urged for understanding and empathy rather than judgment.
Clarifying misconceptions, Mukherjee explained in her video that individuals facing depression can still engage in daily activities and maintain a cheerful appearance. She emphasized the importance of respecting others’ struggles, particularly when not all details can be shared on social media.
Acknowledging the support of her friends and family throughout the ordeal, Mukherjee expressed appreciation for their unwavering encouragement.
The controversy stemmed from Mukherjee’s public revelation of unpaid dues from the makers of Shubh Shagun, alongside allegations of a toxic work environment. Despite attempts to resolve the issue with producer Kundan Singh, clarity on payment was not forthcoming.
In response to Mukherjee’s claims, Singh denied the allegations, citing his efforts to assist her and promising to address the matter legally.
Undeterred by Singh’s denial, Mukherjee affirmed her intent to pursue legal action, citing evidence to support her claims. She urged Singh to provide bank transactions to refute her allegations and expressed confidence in her case based on documented conversations.
Mukherjee garnered support from fellow actors including Aly Goni, Jasmin Bhasin, Uorfi Javed, Surbhi Chandna, and Kajol Srivastava in her pursuit of justice against the producer.
Apart from Mukherjee, Shubh Shagun featured an ensemble cast including Shehzada Dhami, Kajol Srivastav, Ishita Ganguly, and Vivana Singh.
