Dalljiet Kaur took to social media on August 22 to share an update on her ongoing legal battle in Kenya following her separation from Nikhil Patel. The Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2 actress posted a detailed note about the court hearing, but it appears she is not satisfied with the process. Here’s what she had to say.
Returning to India in January 2024 from Kenya, Dalljiet began her post by writing, “Today was my court hearing in Kenya. For those curious about what’s happening, his lawyers are focusing on proving just one point to the judge—that there was no wedding. When I filed the FIR, the Indian Police informed me that our traditional wedding, witnessed by others, would be enough to hold him accountable if he denies the marriage.”
She continued, “Let’s see what unfolds, but it’s disgraceful for him and his family to deny the wedding ever happened. @WATUKENYA, didn’t your top leaders attend our cultural event? Didn’t you all invite me, his wife, to all your gatherings? Or was I just a mistress being invited?”

Dalljiet went on to reveal more about the situation, stating, “It’s interesting how the legal agreement, which was supposed to reassure my parents that you wouldn’t deceive us and would register the marriage as soon as the decree was finalized, is now being presented as a declaration of not being married. Why did your lawyer call me to say the divorce was signed and uncontested? And based on that signed divorce, your ex-wife took the younger child to America?”
In her closing remarks, Dalljiet expressed her frustration with her ex-husband’s actions, stating, “Twisting words is his specialty, but I speak the truth and stand by it. I don’t expect anything from him anymore, but I am ashamed to have taken the Patel name. You should have told me you didn’t consider us married on Karwachauth too, when I was fasting for my husband until 11:30 at night. I should have enjoyed my meal that day instead. Shame on you, Nikhil,” she concluded.
After addressing the court hearing, Dalljiet added another paragraph, mentioning that she no longer needs people in her life who know the truth but won’t stand by her during this difficult time. “I am enough for myself, and I’m not afraid of those who would rather hide than support me now. I made friends thinking they were like Indians who stand by the truth,” she added.
It’s worth noting that the actress deleted her social media post shortly after sharing it.
For those unaware, Dalljiet Kaur and Nikhil Patel have leveled several serious allegations against each other in recent months. The actress has even accused Patel of cheating on her and other women through multiple affairs. Recently, Patel was reportedly in India with his new girlfriend.
