Today’s discussion topic is about old dragging , system of INDIAN daily soaps.Since the advent of TV, and introduction of cable TV, daily soaps or serials have become a part of our lives, and dragging is an age old problem, which makes the serial boringgg. Here are some long running Indian serials , if you have ever watched them do, comment.
Can you guess the longest running series on INDIAN TV ???

About the show ,
It’s a suspense, thriller with ACP Pradhyuman and door breaker Daya are two evergreen characters that C.I.D gave us in its eighteen unbelievable years! But still rocking on the channel whole day…… why don’t they show repeats of other shows too?? Why only CID??

Ok moving on to the next show ……… nope shows these two shows have a tie, both are oldies and started and ended the same years, and ran for eight years together, and set the first benchmark in the history of daily soaps. ANY GUESSES’??

Well lead by Sakshi Tanwar and Samriti Irani as main female leads and I think first great bahu’s ‘KHAANI GHAR GHAR KI’ and ‘ KYUNKI SAAS BHI KABHI BAHU THI’ are one of the oldest and most remembered shows in INDIAN TELIVISION HISTORY.
ALSO ‘KASAUTI ZINDAGI KI’ (2001-2008), KUM KUM-ek pyaara sa bandhan (2002-2009),BALIKA VADHU, 2008 AND STILL RUNNING. UTTARAN (2008-2015)
Some more are there , not that long running but still long running…..
SASURAL SIMAR KA, DABH, YRKKH ,SNS, etc…. which really diverted from their basic plot as they were dragged….
( sorry if it , hurts any Fan just my POV)

Heyy not only serious shows comedy shows aren’t less well ,
F.I.R , ran for 9 , years from 2006 to 2015, on SAB TVit was based on situational comedy , and Kavita as main female lead , Chandramukhi Chautala with constables Gopi and Gulgule.
Another one is……,
A famous SAB TV programme, started in 2008 and still running its none other than ‘TARAK MEHTA KA OOLTAH CHASHMA’this comic serial continues to be on top above the other shows on SAB. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah chronicles the humorous life of people residing in the Gokuldham Society. Its lovable characters such as Jethalal and Daya bhabhi are a huge hit with the Indian audience.

Well the list could be extended moreee…. But they were the main highlights.
Don’t think that only INDIAN TV SHOWS drag or are longest running ……

Sazae-san an animated series fromJapan,Fuji Television: 1969–present , have completed
7332 episodes.
OMG!! 47 years well children’s children might be watching it now……..
Anthology drama series, ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ from Philippines on ABS-CBN: from 1991–present……. No of episodes are not known……
Cooking show, ‘Hasta La Cocina’ from Mexico from 1960–present (info till 2013)have completed 11,232+ episodes OMG!! . I don’t think any INDIAN SHOW has this record……
Soap opera “Guiding Light” from United States United States from 1952–2009 14,409+ (est. based on no. of weekdays, excluding public holidays)

Here you see INDIA after scrolling a bit but not on the top and the second category of 2500-4999 episodes, and the leader is ‘RASOI SHOW’ well its still in production according to the data and hope it tops the list…….
Anyways we almost rock the 1000-2000 epi. category……..
