Chapter 15

It’s been an hour for Sanskar to enter in the mansion….. There was no one in the house except for Ragini and Sujata…. He was searching for Siya here and there but when he couldn’t found her the inquisition started…

Sanskar: kaka… where is Siya?
Kaka: beta…. she was with Swara betiya in her room
Sanskar: I have checked every where they are not here….
Kaushalya: beta yahi kahi honge kaha jainge…..
He called Swara… but she didn’t responding….
It never happened before that he came back and Siya wasn’t there….. Instead she wasn’t at home it seems like, the reason enough to raise his temper….
Sanskar: (irritated) call everyone here….
Within seconds all the servants of the house gathered there confused and little scared looking at his face…..
Sanskar: (strict tone) any one of you know where is Siya?
All were silent with their head down…. this silence answered him on their behalf…
Sanskar: (angrily) there are so many people in the house and nobody knows…. Where is my Daughter… call the guard
The very next moment a giant man was standing in front of him… contrary to his looks….his eyes were full of fear….
Sanskar: where is Siya? Have you seen them going out?
Guard: (shivering voice) I didn’t…. I came to drink water may be that time they left…
Sanskar: (shout on top of his voice) am I paying you for this? Why you are here when you don’t know about the whereabouts of my daughter….. You all are worthless…
Hearing him yelling Ragini and Sujata came running to there….and got shocked seeing him hell angry….
Sujata: Sanskar… what happened? Why are you shouting?
Sanskar: (looked her with pain) Chachi do you know where is Siya? She is not here at home….
Sujata: I don’t know she must be with Swara…. why are you so worried?
Ragini: (little scared) I have seen them going out from my room… but I thought they are going just for a walk…
Sanskar was annoyed, he shook his head angrily and dialed her number once again but the result was same. To every one’s surprise he banged his phone angrily on the floor… for a moment all were silent…. Sujata and Ragini looked at each other helplessly… Ragini messaged Laksh to come home soon…..
Sanskar: looking at all the servants…. When I clearly told everyone not to allow Siya to go out alone then how it happened? (Frustrated with their silence) speak up Damn it!!
He glared every one angrily and then his gaze shifted to Sujata who were as shocked as others…..
Sanskar: Chachi where is mom?
Sujata: she went to nearby temple….
Sanskar: (deadly warning) if anything happens to my daughter I won’t leave any one. You all h..
He was interrupted by a voice
Laksh: Bhai…. What happened?
He came back home getting Ragini’s message… and as he guessed something was fishy….
Sanskar: (angrily) I just came back home to know about my daughter is missing and nobody knows about her whereabouts…
Laksh looked at Ragini’s scared face and he signaled her to calm down, he will handle….
Laksh: (casual tone) bhai she must be with Swara…. why you are over reacting…
Sanskar: (giving a sharp look to him) you will know when you will become father Lucky…
Laksh was about to say something when some acquainted voices from the door made him stop. All eyes shifted to the door where Siya was standing with her smiling….
“Dad!!!” she ran towards him and he quickly grabbed her in his protected arms… he took a deep sigh of relief…
Sanskar: (kissing her forehead) are you fine princess? Where were you?
Siya: (smiling) yeah I am fine… I was with Shona di… we went near the lake… she showed me some plants… it was a practical study and was fun dad….
He smiled at her, making her sit on the couch he turned his gaze towards Swara who was still standing at the door…. Little confused with his heated look towards her… she couldn’t figure out what was happening….. She came up to him oblivious of the storm coming to her….
Swara: (little scared) is everything ok Mr. Maheshwari?
Sanskar: (in loud voice) how can anything be okay when you are around…
Swara: (confused) what??
Sanskar: (now he couldn’t hold his anger anymore…shouted) why you took Siya out?
Swara: (scared) I want to show her some plants in real which are in her course…. I thought it would help her to understand better
Sanskar: I am not paying you for your thoughtfulness…. Don’t try to be over smart…. I don’t want my kid to be an Einstein….
Swara looking helplessly at Laksh and Ragini hoping they will come for her rescue….Laksh noticing her pleading eyes…
Laksh: bhai let her…
Sanskar: (interrupting him) Lucky you stay out of it…. It’s about my daughter
Swara: (offended with his behavior) I just wanted to give her a demo that’s it……I didn’t want to create any mess….
Sanskar: but you actually created a mess by risking my daughter’s life…. How could you be so irresponsible?
“Dad… I re” Siya was about to defend her pal but today he was in no mood to listen anybody…
Sanskar: (angrily) Siya you go to your room…..
Siya: (sadly) but Dad….
Sanskar: I said go….
Unwillingly she moved to her room looking at Swara helplessly…
Sanskar: (turning to Swara) where is your phone?
Swara: (gulping her fear) it’s in my room
His anger raged…. All were helplessly looking at Swara as mute spectators… they can’t do anything for the rescue of this innocent soul…. Finally Sujata spoke…
Sujata: (softly) Sanskar now Siya is back safely…. There is no need to drag this… let it go…
Sanskar: (angrily) I can’t let it go chachi…. What if something would have happened to Siya? It was my mistake I shouldn’t have brought this girl here… it was my impulsive decision…. She is nothing more than an immature kid….
Swara’s eyes brimmed with tears…. She was thinking, is she deserve this for all the hard work she had been doing? How easily he said it was an impulsive decision…. For this job she has sacrificed all her happiness… her family…closed ones, all….. Tears were continuously flowing from her eyes…. Ragini, Laksh, Sujata all were looking at her with guilty eyes…. Guilt of not being protective to her….
Sanskar: (looking angrily at Swara) Now don’t shed your tears… these are not going to redeem for your mistake… by the way how dare you took Siya out without informing anybody and with whose permission…..
She didn’t want to answer him….didn’t want to give any clarification…. She kept looking at him emotionlessly with teary eyes….
“With my permission” a strong loud voice made them all to startle…. Annapurna was standing at the door with fiery eyes…. She heard Sanskar’s accusations…. She was angry
Coming closer to Sanskar…
Annapurna: (with an angry glare) I gave her permission….are you going to question me also?
All were shocked with Annapurna’s revelation…. He was standing there speechless… he could see the hidden hatred for him in every eye…. He looked at Swara with guilty eyes…. But damage was made….
Sanskar: Miss Bose I a…
Before he could say anything she ran way from there, crying badly…..

At living room…..

He was sitting in the middle surrounded by all…. Guilty for his doings
Annapurna: (disappointed) how could you talk to her like this Sanskar?
Sanskar: (painful eyes) mom when I came back and didn’t find Siya… it boiled my anger… when she came back with Siya, I couldn’t hold myself….
Annapurna: (shaking her head) if you had doubt and you want to question her, you could confront her differently…. This is not the way to deal with things….. you should have talked to her personally in private but you chose to make it a public display….. you know how she must be feeling…
Sanskar: but she didn’t speak anything about your permission…
Laksh: (sarcastic) As if you allowed her to speak… “The one who roars is not always right…”
Annapurna: (staring Laksh) Laksh!!!
Laksh: sorry mom…
Annapurna: (calm tone) look Sanskar…. Accept your mistake, what you did was wrong… more over she is not used to of all this…. I know you always treat Swara as an immature and childish girl though she is not… but tell me what you did today was sensible? Wasn’t it insane?
Sanskar: (softly) I am sorry mom….
Annapurna: it’s not me whom you should say it… go to the right person and seek for her forgiveness….
Sujata: (with pity) poor girl…. I still remember her innocent eyes, shedding tears….
He knew he did wrong and was blameworthy but for him it’s not that easy to say sorry as seems to others…. No doubt he was repenting…… but then he was Sanskar Maheshwari, to whom things were always complicated…

Night, at Garden

Entire day Swara confounded herself in her room…. she didn’t even came for evening tea and diner…. The ladies of the house tried to meet her but she excused herself by saying that she wanted to be alone for sometime…. For some fresh air she came here, her favorite place in the mansion….
“Swara” Ragini called her…. standing there with two cups of coffee… Swara tuned to look at her, hiding her tears…
Ragini: May I join you?
Swara nodded… passing a cup of coffee to her Ragini spoke “Have it… you will feel better”. Without any restriction she took that cup….
Ragini: (sipping coffee) so… what were you thinking?
Swara: (sad smile) I was thinking about my life….how it used to be and how it became…
Ragini: (felt her pain) I am sorry Swara for Sanskar’s behavior…
Swara: (softly) why you are saying sorry Ragini it wasn’t your fault….. beside it’s not Mr. Maheshwari’s fault, perhaps I was on the wrong side of the law…
Ragini: (shocked) No Swara…. it wasn’t your fault, don’t blame yourself…. He did the mistake… he could have handled that little wisely…..
Swara: (perplex) I don’t know Ragini why he Dislikes me this much…. Whatever I do he never likes it….
Ragini: (smiles) he doesn’t dislike you Swara…. if so he would never choose you for Siya…it’s just that when it comes to Siya he forgets everything… all his wisdom, sanity, maturity everything….. May be because of the past….
Swara: (confused) Past!!!
Ragini: (serious tone) You know Swara… Siya is not Sanskar’s blood… she is not his own daughter…
This confession had made Swara aghast… her eyes widened, with her mouth open she was staring Ragini like a dumbfound whether she has heard it correctly or not
Swara: then what happened to her? How she died?
Ragini: (confused) who?
Swara: his Wife….
Ragini: (sad smile) he never had one….
She couldn’t handle it more… these shocking revelations of his life was making her baffle…. “was I living in a different world all these days?… unaware of the truth, she thought”
Ragini: (observing her) Yes dear this is the truth of his life…. Siya is an adopted kid of the eldest son of this family… Adarsh bhaiya…. Adarsh bhaiya and parineeta bhabhi adopted Siya and brought her here… unfortunately after a week of Siya’s arrival they both died in an accident… at that time all decided to send Siya back to orphanage… as people were started calling her jinx… even Sujata Chahi was adamant that she should go back…. Technically they were right who will going to take care of that one month baby…. Because those who brought her were now no more…. Then Sanskar took a stand for her…. and decided to adopt her, at that time he was just 21…. All were against him…. Nobody wanted him to take such drastic step…. But he was Adamant…. Sanskar was very close to Adarsh bhai, after his Father’s death, Adarsh bhai became his support, his companion….. And he just wanted to keep Siya as his last remembrance….. Against his rocky will eventually all gave up and agreed…. And he legally adopted Siya…. Swara he has seen many losses in his life, now he is just scared of loosing anyone close to him… and Siya is really close to him……
She was speechless…. “How a man can be so selfless, she thought”…. Few hours ago the man she hated to core was now regarding as selfless man, what an irony!!
