PART 3
Days passed by, Sona had by now made a good impression in front of her teachers leading to Dev’s disappointment. Life at school was not turning out to be a bed of roses for her.The teacher’s pet, favourite student image of Sona acted as her thorns and prevented any of her classmates to become her friends. She had occasional chats with Jatin (Dev thought that it was only because Jatin likes Aloo Posto that he had started talking to Ms. Potato). She could manage the loneliness during the classes but the breaks were intolerable. So she started carrying her copy of Little Women and read it in the class.

One day Sona forgot to carry the book and out of boredom went to explore the library of the school.

The school library was in the front wing, second floor of the school. When Sona pushed the door of the library open. She was awestruck. The library was huge and looked more like a café. Many books were stacked on both the sides. The library had many small round tables scattered here and there. Wooden flooring adorned the floor. At the end of the library were huge glass windows which gave a view of the main ground. Right there sitting in the library when any reader would get tired or would be full of thoughts, when the reader and the prose would be one and the writer and its writings would fill the entire room, the big glass windows would show them the real world & this time the same window, the same ground with the tall Ashoka trees standing high in pride would show the reader a different world where he couldn’t live the book but could carry the essence of the book. Every time I open a book and inhale the fragrance of the old familiar pages the feeling is beyond explanation and Sonakshi agreed to it. With all the reading apps going popular I feel that some good old things should be retained in our lives.

When Sona was wandering in the library inspecting the books she bumped into someone
“Ouch !! You … I should have guessed, who else on Earth could be walking with such absent mindedness” said Dev rubbing his forehead
“Fine I’m sorry.. but it was not my fault entirely why were you reading and walking at the same time” replied Sona
Dev didn’t reply and bend to pick up the book while
BANG
They collided head on

D: What??
S: I was just trying to help. Now come …
D: Where
S: We’ll have to bang our heads again
D: Are you mad I’ll rather bang my head with the wall & die.
Saying so he started moving away while Sona caught his hand from behind
S: Why are you behaving like Mr Aubhodro,
See its imp if we don’t do so then
D: Then ???
S: Sar par singh ug jaate hai..
Dev went insane laughing
S: & What makes you laugh.See it’s serious
D: Fine .. it is very serious indeed
& he banged his gently with Sona’s

The mid-term exams were about to begin. The school decided to hold an orientation program for the students and their parents. Dev had decided to come with his Bua, Ishwari Khatri. Ishwari lived with her brother’s family(Dev’s father). Her parents had disowned her when she had eloped with a truck driver Khatri. Only after a few years of marriage Khatri left Ishwari. When Ishwari went with her classic Halwa to reconcile with Khatri he stuffed the halwa in a chota baksa & returned her to her brother’s house. Dev has been raised by Ishwari as both his parents were working.
On the other hand Mr. Bijoy Bose accompanied Sona. Sona & her mother were living with Sona’s masi in Delhi after her father died. Bijoy was Sona’s masi’s brother in law. He was still unmarried. If you’ll ever meet and him and ask him the reason for his prolonged bachelorhood he would start telling you all the bad things about getting married but the truth is that the only girl that Bijoy loved in his life eloped with a truck driver( Chalo chalo apne dimaag ke ghode daudoa .. kaun ho skti h wo bewafa). Bijoy was a father figure to Sona. Sona could share anything with him & he too could fight with any storm for Sona.

The parents had started reaching the auditorium. Sona & Bijoy were also seated and Bijoy started feeling thirsty. He went to drink water. Bijoy’s phone rang which he had left with Sona.
Dev had told Ishwari to wait near the gate for him while he went to help with the arrangement of the function.
Bijoy was going towards the water cooler when Sona called him and he turned around to listen to her but he still kept walking and accidentally bumped into Ishwari. Bijoy turned towards Ishwari to say Sorry but when he looked at her the old cupid hit him. Violins,bells,guitars all rang in his ears and the BGM played

I: Biju … It’s been so long
B: Yes.. how are you ? You’ve come here with your child?
I: No … my brother’s child studies here
B: Ohh ( With a tubelight smile)
I: & u
B: No I am still .. still .. unmarried ..

Hearing all this Ishwari was super happy & they felt like singing

JEB HAI KHALI PYAR KE SIKO SE AAO KAR LE GUZARA
B: You Still look the same Ishu .. same eyes, same kiddish smile
Biju’s Ishu went gaga listening to this & sang

KISNE ROOP SAWARA KABHI LAGU MOHINI
KABHI LAGU CHANDINI
KABHI CHAMKILA SITARA
TUMSE MILE DIL ME UTHA DARD KARARA
I: Kise din ghar par khaana khane aaiye na, BIJU, Mai aapke liye besan ka halwa banaugi. New New flavours bhi try kar skte h, mint halwa, karela halwa, mushroom halwa …
B: Are waah Ishu sounds like it’s not your kitchen but a halwa shop. Why don’t you call yourself halwa lady. I’ll gift you the superman suit, red cape & oh a red underwear the one that Superman wears over his costume.. HAhaaha
Ishwari was not flattered. When she looked at Bijoy it seemed that she wished to kill him with her constipated looks. The whole atmosphere became black & white & ISHJOY’S DARD KARARA SEQUENCE changed to
Jhel sakti hu mai kuch bhi hote huye
Nahi mai nahi jhel sakti halwe ki beizzati hote huye
“Who were you talking to Kaka ?”
& Bijoy said “ ISHWARI.. ISHWARI DIXIT .. BEWAFA HAI”
