Sometimes…..(KKB) Chapter 16

Abhi was happy Rinku returned home but was feeling upset that Pragya never reciprocate to his love. He was being genuine but it didn’t work out.

Rinku and Rocky were sleeping in the room.

His Ma “Abhi, don’t lose hope. You expressed your love na….that’s more important.”

Abhi “No Ma…it feels bad when she reacted as if I was being unreasonable. I knew something like this will happen. This is why I said falling in love at this age is wrong.”

His Ma shook her head in denial. She made her sit beside him.

His Ma “I tell you one thing Abhi, like how you have the right to express your love. She have the right to deny it.”

Abhi “Ma….but it’s my first love….” He says looking down.

Ma “Yes it is. But u have to think of her too. What’s running in her mind? Does she have other plans or someone else in her life? You know everyone have different thoughts on life. First you have to understand who is she as a person.”

Abhi “From what I understand she is a very sweet and genuine person. You have also seen her Ma. She is such a caring person.”

Ma “It’s not enough Abhi. This are her basic characteristics in front of us. She might have more in her life. Try to know about her life through her friends if possible. It might help you in finding out whether there would be chances of her falling in love with you.”

Abhi “Wow Ma!!! You have great ideas with you! Is this how you trapped Dad?”

Ma blushed hearing it. Ma “Stop teasing me. That’s not of any use to your love!”

Abhi chuckled and asked “Do you think she will fall in love with me?”

Ma “If u ask me, as your Ma I will tell you definitely she will fall in love.”

Abhi “Then as not my Ma, what will u tell?”

Ma “Hmm…50-50!” Abhi “What does that mean?”

Ma “Listen Abhi, after all she is a girl. We girls have a complicated mind which have thoughts on so many things. We have to consider a lot of things before saying yes to a relationship.”

Abhi “Why Ma? If you like a person u can just say a yes na….the rest can be handled later na…”

Ma “I don’t know about that. This is what I did before I say a yes to your Dad!”

Abhi “No wonder it took 2 years for him to woo you!”

Ma “I was impressed with him in the first year itself but my thoughts on a lot of things made it to 2 years.”

Abhi in shock “Ma…I can’t wait for 2 years. It’s impossible. I am already old not in my teens to wait for a yes.”

Ma “Be positive Abhi. You never know it might only take 2 months to get a yes from her.”

Abhi “I hope it’s just 2 weeks!”

Ma smirked saying “You are very impatient Abhi. She really did some magic on you.”

Abhi “It’s not magic Ma…It’s logic! I just love her personality.”

Ma “I am glad that love is happening in your life now. Just try your best to know about her. If your love is truthful, everything will take place by itself.”

Abhi smiled widely. He then thanked her for always supporting him.

She then left thinking what would happen if he gets to know that she is Rinku’s mother in real.

She got to know this as she overheard Rocky and Rinku’s conversation. Rocky had revealed the name of his mum to Rinku. Rinku hearing it was shocked. He said they need to investigate more to find is it really true.

Abhi’s Ma was already finding similarities with Pragya and Rinku. Their face, the way both scrunch their nose. Even sometimes the way he talks is similar to Pragya. The maturity that Rinku have at this age is not Abhi’s traits.

But she was unsure of coming to a conclusion. Now it makes sense to him but like Rinku said she also need to confirm whether Pragya is really his mum.

Pragya tries to move when Abhi comes in front of him. She gives a ignorant look which hurts Abhi.
Abhi “Pragya….” He says by touching her waist. She stares at him while he gives a innocent look.
Pragya “Look Mr Abhi, as adults we should set the right example to kids.” She says by removing his hand from her waist.

Abhi “But why can’t you understand my love?”
Pragya “Mr Abhi, like how your Ma explained to you I have my own plans in life. In that plans I don’t have a space for you.”

Abhi “Not even for Rinku?” He asks to which she startles. Pragya taking a deep breath says “Try to understand that you can find a better person than me.” Abhi “It’s not about finding a better person for me. I am saying I can’t find a better person than you as a Ma for Rinku.”

Pragya “Well, if that’s your problem, what if find a person that is better than me for Rinku? Will you accept her?”

Abhi “It’s impossible. Only you have the motherly affection towards Rinku. I can feel it Pragya….”

Pragya, How is being right but at the same time wrong?

Abhi “Speak up Pragya. I can’t imagine anyone being a mother to Rinku other than you!!”

Pragya “I have someone in my mind. Do you want to give a chance to her?”

Abhi “Ridiculous! I am saying you are the best but u are adamant in finding someone better!”

Pragya walks away as he says “Ok as per your wish I can give a chance. But you should be around when I am deciding whether to give a chance to her.” She nods her head saying she will make arrangements to make the person to meet Rinku and him.
