Manoj Prasad, the proud coach, highlighted the local impact of their win, stating, “Since people around our vicinity have seen us on the show, there are many people coming to our institute with their kids to learn Mallkhambh. That’s our real victory.” Despite a temporary pause in admissions during the IGT competition, the group is now gearing up to welcome more enthusiasts and expand their training programs.
For Manoj and the entire group, the win has brought not just local acclaim but global recognition. “We are getting a fantastic response from across the world, and that feels surreal. There are some international pole artists reaching out to us, and there are people who want to interview us,” Manoj shared. The academy’s mission to promote Mallkhambh and showcase its versatility in styles and variations has indeed struck a chord on the international stage.
Reflecting on the surreal experience of watching themselves on TV for the first time, Manoj conveyed the emotional response from their community, “When we first came on the show and our episode was aired, the entire Chhattisgarh watched it on TV. So many of our family members had tears in their eyes and were emotional. We have always seen big stars on TV, and then to see ourselves on TV, that felt unreal.”
As Abujhmad Mallkhambh Academy basks in the glow of victory, their journey continues to inspire both locally and globally, establishing Mallkhambh as an art form celebrated for its diverse styles and universal appeal.
