Actor Ruslaan Mumtaz stranded in Manali amidst heavy rains; hopes to return Mumbai soon
Actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, who was in Manali shooting for a web show, finds himself stranded in the area due to the relentless downpour and landslides that have affected Himachal Pradesh in recent days. Despite the limited network connectivity, Ruslaan managed to share glimpses of the challenging situation through pictures and videos on social media. During a recent interview, Ruslaan opened up about his experience, stating, “I arrived here on July 4 for my shoot. Initially, it was raining, but we never anticipated the situation would escalate to this extent.”
The situation took a turn for the worse on July 9 when incessant rainfall triggered flooding. Ruslaan explained, “The water entered our resort premises, and for safety, we were moved to the service quarters. However, it soon became evident that even that area was not secure. The resort staff then guided us to a small village up the hill.”
Although Ruslaan expressed gratitude for being in a safe location, he emphasized that the situation remains concerning. “We are currently holed up in a school within the village, situated at an elevated position. When we first arrived, food supplies were limited, and we had to skip meals. It’s challenging, but the resort owner has not abandoned us and is taking care of our needs. The situation in Manali was incredibly frightening, but there are signs of improvement. I hope the rain ceases completely. However, even after that, it will take some time for us to return as the roads have been severely affected by landslides,” Ruslaan shared.
As Ruslaan eagerly awaits the weather to stabilize and transportation routes to be restored, he remains hopeful for a safe journey back to Mumbai.
