Actress Sangita Ghosh on her upcoming show Swaran Ghar

Actress Sangita Ghosh who was last seen as a pishachini in the supernatural thriller, Divya Drishti, has done an array of movies and shows. Sangita is now returning to TV after a break of two years with Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey’s upcoming show ‘Swaran Ghar’. Sangita will essay the character of Swaran in the show and will be paired with actor Ronit Bose Roy.

The actress talked about it in her recent interview with BT and shared, “The show’s title is about a house that’s named after my character, Swaran. She comes from a humble background and gets married to Kanwal, who is affluent, well-read, and well-traveled. Her husband is extremely supportive of her and shows her the ways of life. I wish aise husbands ho duniya mein (laughs!). Swaran adores her three sons and her world revolves around her family. She also relies on her children for the smallest things. But as we see everywhere, after growing up, kids have a life of their own. There comes a time when she realizes that she will have to turn over a new leaf and stand on her own. The show is also about woman empowerment. It’s not a regular love story. It is what you see in everyday life. I feel it is more difficult to get a simple story across on the screen than a complex one. I hope I do justice to this character.”

The actress still gets nervous before a scene. Talking about getting nervous while shooting for the promo, she said, “Yes, all the time before every scene. The team working on a show visualizes a character in a certain way and I want it to translate through me on screen. That results in a lot of nervousness, especially at the beginning. Once you start shooting, you ease into it. I feel it is good to feel nervous — when you are trying to build a rapport with your co-actors and the technical team on the set. It keeps the enthusiasm alive.”

When asked if she also feels pressure, she replied,  “You want to look good and come across genuine in your attempt to portray a character with conviction. You want audiences to like the character you are playing. Aaj kal pressure bhi ho gaya hai. Pehle itna nahi hota tha. Pehle hum sirf apni acting par dhyaan dete the. You have to look proper all the time. People are worried about the audience’s reaction also. I try to keep myself away from all the pressure and that’s why I am not on social media because it can really screw up with your mind.”
