Actress Shalini Kapoor roped in to essay a pivotal role in Piya Abhimani, says “I’ll play a self-made woman”
Actress Shalini Kapoor, who was last seen in the TV show Sirf Tum has now joined the cast of Piya Abhimani. The show features Aastha Sharma, Akshit Sukhija, and Dolly Sohi in the lead roles.
The actress talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “I’m happy to resume shoots. After my last show, Sirf Tum went off-air, I was busy with my personal life. But now it’s time to focus back on work so I’m blessed to find the right project at the right time. The makers of the show were very welcoming. Last weekend my movie Shehzada was released and I got a good response. So I’m feeling better, but I’m still recovering.”
She added, “I was skeptical to take up this show as I had just lost my dad and was totally broken. But things were shaping up with this show in such a way that indicated that this show was meant for me. Then my husband (actor Rohit Sagar) also encouraged me to start shooting as this would help me fight the current state of depression. So I took up the project.”
Talking about her role in the show, Shalini shared, “I am glad to play Kumud in the show as this is a very beautiful and super powerful character of a self-made woman. She is the mother of the hero and the pillar of the house and business empire. She is very good in handling human relationships and is very strong-headed.”
