It is nothing new to hear that an actor has changed their name for their presence on screen. Many Bollywood celebrities have done it and it is not such an uncommon practice in the telly town too. The reasons behind the same can be many starting from numerology to astrology to picking an uncommon name which stays with the fans. Recently actress Veronica Verma is the new one to join this bandwagon.
Clearing the air about her name, Veronica talked to BT and said, “Earlier my name was ‘Priya Verma’ but I changed it to ‘Veronica Verma’ because I always wanted my stage name to be unique. The reason behind the name Veronica is I am a big fan of Deepika Padukone and after watching her movie, Cocktail, I was so inspired by her character I thought of keeping my stage name as ‘Veronica’. I am particularly very fond of this name.”
Further, she adds, “There wasn’t any numerological and astrological reason behind changing my name but the name change worked for me as I feel it has brought me good luck. I have been receiving pretty good opportunities in my career and hope to receive them in the future too.”
