Aishwarya Khare aka Lakshmi from Bhagya Lakshmi, illuminates the significance of Hariyali Teej
Hariyali Teej, also known as Singhara Teej, resonates as a vivacious and exultant cultural revelry heralding the advent of the monsoon season and the reinvigoration of nature. This jubilant festival holds a deeper meaning rooted in the tale of goddess Parvati, who incarnated 108 times before Lord Shiva’s acceptance of her devotion led to their divine union. Celebrated with fervor across various corners of India, Hariyali Teej stands as a tribute to matrimonial bonds and the splendor of the natural world. In the spirit of this momentous occasion, Aishwarya Khare, renowned as Lakshmi from Bhagya Lakshmi, shares the festival’s significance and the rituals associated with it.
Reflecting on her childhood memories in a recent interview, Aishwarya Khare shared, “Teej encapsulates the celebration of nature, love, and unity. During my upbringing in Bhopal, I distinctly remember my mother’s vibrant involvement in Hariyali Teej festivities. As a curious young girl, I was captivated by the festivities and the tales behind them. As the monsoons graced us, so did Hariyali Teej, a jubilant reminder of life’s splendor.” Aishwarya fondly recalls the vibrant scenes where married women, including her mother, would assemble to commemorate the occasion. Henna application, resplendent green, yellow, and red attire, the harmonious melodies of traditional songs, and the spirited dance following the pooja marked this cherished festival.
