Popular actor Aly Goni recently made an appearance on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, where he shared his candid thoughts on various topics, including the impact of trolling and his close friend Asim Riaz’s recent controversy on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. During the conversation, Aly revealed how online trolls don’t bother him, explaining that most of these trolls are simply fans of other actors. He also mentioned that trolling often intensifies after participating in high-profile reality shows like Bigg Boss.
Aly brought up the case of Asim Riaz, who has been receiving a lot of negative attention following his exit from Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. Despite Asim being a genuinely nice person, according to Aly, he has faced undue criticism. Bharti Singh asked Aly if Asim’s behavior was aggressive, to which Aly responded, “That is his nature; he didn’t like it.” Aly emphasized that the situation was between Asim and the show’s channel, and it was the channel’s decision that led to his departure, not something for the trolls to judge.
Aly admitted that he hadn’t watched much of the show, but he made it a point to watch Asim’s episodes. He acknowledged that if Asim’s actions were highlighted so prominently, then a lot must have happened behind the scenes, possibly edited to fit the narrative. Aly suggested that Asim’s aggressive reaction could have been provoked, indicating that there’s more to the story than what the audience saw.
In a show of solidarity, Aly referenced past seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi, recalling how Haarsh Limbachiyaa and Aditya Narayan had their share of misunderstandings during Khatron Ke Khiladi 9. He shared how fellow contestants intervened to help resolve their issues, guiding Aditya and Haarsh towards understanding each other better.
Reflecting on the events of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, Aly expressed his disappointment that none of the other contestants tried to calm Asim down during the tense moments. “If the other 10-12 people who were standing had tried to calm Asim down, it wouldn’t have happened. Everyone was provoking him, and so that happened. This is not Bigg Boss,” he remarked, with Bharti agreeing that many contestants try to turn every reality show into Bigg Boss.
Aly further elaborated, “Everyone has a nature. Asim has aggression.” He explained that having known Asim since childhood, he was aware of his friend’s aggressive tendencies. While he wasn’t sure if Asim had misbehaved with the show’s host, Rohit Shetty, Aly emphasized that if Asim did, it was wrong. However, he criticized the other contestants for showing Asim attitude and trying to be heroes instead of diffusing the situation.
In a nostalgic moment, Bharti and Aly recalled how Aditya Narayan, known for his occasional outbursts, was guided by the other contestants during his season. Bharti mentioned that Aditya and Haarsh are now good friends, highlighting how conflicts can be resolved with understanding and support. Aly lamented that the contestants of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 missed an opportunity to handle Asim in a similar way, choosing instead to provoke him further.
Aly concluded by explaining that Asim likely felt cornered, thinking, “Yaar, main toh TV pe ch**iya dikh jaaunga.” As an actor and performer, Asim must have been acutely aware that his every move was being recorded, leading to concerns about his public image. This pressure likely contributed to his aggressive behavior, which ultimately did no one any good.
For those unaware, Asim Riaz was expelled from Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 14 following a heated argument with the show’s makers and fellow contestant Abhishek Kumar. Aly’s insights offer a glimpse into the complex dynamics behind the scenes, reminding us that reality television often presents only a fraction of the real story.
