Aniruddh Dave on his recovery from COVID-19; says, “The process is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding”

Patiala Babes and Shakti fame Aniruddh Dave fought with the virus with all his might and came out victorious. The actor was admitted to the hospital with a 90 percent lung infection but now he is on the road to recovery.

Talking about it in an interview he shares, “I have resumed work to boost my confidence. Even though my family was averse to the idea of me leaving for work so soon, I had to do it for my sanity. I was hospitalized for two months and was recovering at home for another two months. Half a year went by with me being sick and if I stayed home any more, my morale would have hit an all-time low. The process of recovering from COVID-19 is extremely demanding in all aspects – physically, mentally, and spiritually. I can’t forget the time when I was in the hospital for 55 days before I was discharged in June. It was very disturbing.”

Talking about his process of recovery he says, “I had a 10-day off, so I stayed at a yoga ashram in Haridwar. I would wake up at 4 am for meditation and do yoga and breathing exercises. Earlier, I wasn’t physically and mentally prepared, but all these breathing exercises have helped in boosting my confidence. I would meditate for five hours every day. I realized that it was worth it. We are so caught up in our daily routine that we don’t really pay attention to our mental health and strength, which is the need of the hour.”

He adds, “Every day, I am pulling up my socks and trying to return to my normal self. I am taking baby steps and am not in a hurry. It is a slow and gradual process. Breathing is normal and I don’t need oxygen support,” he shares, adding, “I was always physically active. In fact, COVID-19 hone ke do dinn pehle tak main 10 km running kar raha tha. Hospital se aane ke baad main 10 kadam chalne ke baad haafne lagta tha aur mujhe lagta tha ki arre ye kya ho gaya. However, I can now cover almost five kms. I am still not trying to run. I am just walking, taking one day at a time. I am not in a hurry. Gradually, everything will be fine.”
