Anita Hassanandani is making a much-anticipated return to television screens after a five-year hiatus with her new show, Suman Indori. The talented actress, known for her roles in popular shows like Kkavyanjali and Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, took a break from acting to focus on motherhood. Although she made a brief appearance in Hum Rahein Ya Na Rahein last year, Anita considers Suman Indori her full-time comeback to the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Anita Hassanandani shared her thoughts on returning to work while juggling family life. She admitted that the comeback is “incredibly challenging,” and she is experiencing a mix of emotions as she steps back into her acting career.
The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein star revealed that leaving her baby boy, Aarav, at home requires significant mental preparation, and she is still adjusting to the new routine. “I love my work and have been missing shooting, so there’s a bit of mom guilt mixed in with the excitement,” Anita confessed.
Anita, who will be sharing the screen with Ashnoor Kaur and Zain Imam in Suman Indori, emphasized the importance of parents considering their own needs and passions. She shared how she and her husband, Rohit Reddy, strive to find a balance that allows them to pursue their careers while also giving their son the attention he needs.
The 43-year-old actress explained how she manages her work schedule while ensuring quality time with Aarav. She stays home three days a week and spends the remaining four days on set, carefully balancing her professional and personal life.
When asked about her decision to take an extended break after pregnancy, Anita mentioned that her son is now old enough to understand that his mother has to work and will return home. “I didn’t want him to feel that his mother had vanished, hence I took this much time to come back,” she added.
Despite having a well-thought-out plan, the Naagin actress acknowledged that there are challenging moments. She revealed that there have been days when Aarav has video-called her in tears, missing her presence at home.
For those curious about her new show, Suman Indori explores the complex and competitive dynamics between devrani and jethani (sisters-in-law). The show is set to premiere on September 3 on Colors TV and will also be available digitally on Jio Cinema.
