Ankit Mohan’s decision to quit Kaatelal and Sons came as a shock to everyone. In an interview with BT Ankit shared the reason behind quitting the show. The actor said, “I was creatively not satisfied with my role in the show; I was expecting something else and waited patiently since September to see some difference in my character. After waiting for almost four months, I decided to exit the show. Being an actor, I think I have the right to move on when I feel the time is right. Having said that, the cast was nice to work with and even the storyline was good.”
He added, “I feel the show focuses more on Megha and Jiya’s characters and in that case, they should be on the front foot. In fact, they are doing well in the show. I always believe that if you are not happy with something, you shouldn’t force yourself to remain in that situation. Hence I decided to move on.”
So what was he expecting from his role, “I wanted to be seen more because only that will get me more work in the future. I have been struggling in the industry since the past 10 years and every actor has some expectations when they get lead roles. It was a good opportunity for me – to get a lead role after the lockdown, but I soon realised that the focus was more on Megha and Jiya’s characters. However, I have left on an amicable note and the team gave me a very sweet farewell.”
