Actor Anuj Sachdeva, who was recently seen in Woh Toh Hai Albelaa, is a fitness enthusiast. During a recent interview with BT, the actor talked about his definition of fitness and also shared a message for those who tend to hit the gym vigorously.
He said, “I go to the gym regularly but I make sure to take a day off to relax and rest. Even when I’m shooting, I try to take some time off to recharge my batteries. Good sleep is crucial for the body to recover. So, on days when I’m sleep-deprived, I prefer not to go to the gym. Instead, I do yoga, which is just a bit of stretching and asanas. It helps in starting my day better.”
Anuj added, “People with high metabolism need not resort to a rigorous fitness routine because it can be draining. However, if you want to lose weight, you should do cardio consistently. So, a lot depends on the body type and one should work out accordingly. Also, the right diet can make a lot of difference. It’s 40 percent sleep, 30 percent workout, and 30 percent diet. Workout is just a way to break your muscles, which can be achieved without hitting the gym. It can be done by indulging in sports or swimming.”
Talking about the importance of stretching after a workout session, Anuj said, “The one mistake that a lot of people make in the gym and that’s something even I have done is that they do not stretch. It is as important as doing warm-ups before a workout. The lack of it leads to complications at a later stage in life.”
When asked how he motivates himself to make time for gymming amidst a busy schedule, he replied, “My motivation is the self-confidence that I gain when I feel fit and healthy. I want to keep pushing myself because I want to stay fit even when I grow old. I have seen a lot of people who try doing the best way possible to keep themselves in shape, and they inspire me a lot. Fitness isn’t just about lifting heavy weights, but more about being in shape and having a strong, stable core.”
