Anupamaa fame Arvind Vaidya aka Bapuji reveals the reason behind his absence from the show
Arvind Vaidya, popularly known as Bapuji from the show Anupamaa, has been noticeably absent from the series for nearly a month. Currently, the storyline revolves around Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) leaving for the US to manage a dance academy there.
Despite the ongoing farewell track in the show, Bapuji has not appeared in any recent episodes. During a recent interview, veteran actor Arvind Vaidya shared the reason behind his absence. He revealed that he is currently on a pre-planned holiday in the US, which has made it impossible for him to shoot for the show.
Vaidya explained, “Back in January, I had already applied for leave and booked our tickets as my son and his family reside in Atlanta. My wife and I departed for the US on June 4, before this track was planned. I had shot my episodes in advance and left. In the television industry, storylines are not always planned ahead of time. It can be quite unpredictable.”
Expressing his longing for the set of Anupamaa, Vaidya said, “I truly miss being on set, especially since there is an important track unfolding with Anupama leaving for the US. However, this trip was planned well in advance, and I couldn’t alter the arrangements.”
While enjoying his vacation abroad, Vaidya shared his experiences, saying, “Upon learning that I was visiting my son, people here invited me to various public functions. It was delightful to meet them, and I am also cherishing moments with my family and grandchildren. The weather is pleasant as well. We will return on July 6, and I will resume shooting for the show thereafter.”
