Anupamaa fame Saga Parekh on replacing paras Kalnawat for the role of Samar; says, “The pressure to play Samar was very high”
Sagar Parekh, who is currently essaying the role of Samar in Anupamaa, celebrated his birthday yesterday on the set. The actor talked about it during a recent interview and shared, “The production house made sure that I celebrated my birthday with a huge cake on the set. I am not complaining that I could not meet my family because work is of utmost importance and I was happy doing that.”
Talking about his experience of replacing Paras Kalnawat, he said, “I have always been part of shows from the beginning and have never replaced anyone. So, when I was offered the role of Samar, it was a mammoth task. After I started shooting for the show, I remember how I went through sleepless nights. I wanted to make sure that I give this my best because the show has connected with viewers and I did not want the masses to feel disappointed after they saw me playing Samar. I am glad that audiences have accepted and liked my portrayal of Samar. I remember how I used to watch previous episodes of Anupamaa to understand Samar’s character and why he was so endearing to all in the family. I remember telling Rupali madam (Ganguly) how I will not let anyone down when I started shooting and she showed tremendous trust and supported me in my work. The entire team has been very supportive.”
Sagar is elated with the response he is receiving for his performance. He said, “People like me and I am glad that I have been able to find a place in people’s hearts. I feel the credit goes to the team and my hard work. I have toiled very hard to play Samar.”
