Nidhi Shah, who portrays Kinjal in “Anupamaa,” has returned to the show after a brief hiatus, introducing an intriguing twist to the storyline. In an interview, she shared the reasons behind Kinjal’s return to the Shah household, fan responses, and forthcoming developments.
Expressing her surprise at returning sooner than expected, Nidhi revealed, “I wasn’t anticipating an immediate comeback. Earlier, discussions hinted at a return during the show’s leap. However, it feels wonderful to be back on set after a hiatus. I’m thoroughly enjoying resuming work. I always knew I wasn’t exiting the show; I didn’t bid farewell.”
Hinting at the upcoming storyline, she teased, “The script demanded Toshu and Kinjal’s return. The producers and creators aim to introduce a twist, adding suspense before the leap, leaving viewers curious about whether we’ll return to the UK or not.”
Regarding her future in “Anupamaa” post the leap, Nidhi remained discreet, stating, “As of now, I’m certainly continuing. I can’t divulge the show’s trajectory; viewers will have to watch ‘Anupamaa’ for that.”
Reflecting on fan reactions, she mentioned, “Those following me on Instagram shared mixed messages. Some were elated about my return, while others had different expectations, assuming I’d move on to something else. I believe something good will transpire in due course.”
Nidhi also shared her co-stars’ emotional reception upon her return to the sets, stating, “I share a close bond with a few co-actors who were emotional when I left. Witnessing their joy upon my return was heartening. ‘Anupamaa’ feels like my second home, and the connections I’ve formed there are invaluable.”
