Arshi Khan Criticizes Marital Disrespect on Bigg Boss 17: Calls for Casting Refresh and Return to Original Format

Arshi Khan, known for her stint on Bigg Boss 11, has voiced her disappointment over the conduct of actresses Ankita Lokhande and Aishwarya Sharma Bhatt towards their husbands, Vicky Jain and Neil Bhatt, in the current season of Salman Khan-hosted show, Bigg Boss 17.

Speaking to ETimes TV, Arshi remarked, “It’s disheartening to witness individuals showing disrespect to their marriages on national television. If you can’t respect or adapt with your life partner, it’s better to stay single. Such marriages appear artificial and circumstance-driven. Behaving in this manner is not appropriate, as it can have negative repercussions on society. The youth might lose respect for the institution of marriage and find it more demeaning. They seem to be treating it as if they are shooting for a TV show, and it’s quite shameful.”

Arshi, who returned to the reality show as a challenger in its 14th season, expressed her dissatisfaction with this year’s Bigg Boss casting, deeming it as the most uninteresting one. She suggested that the show’s makers remove some contestants and infuse a fresh approach by introducing new faces or challengers.

She added, “I’ve heard that nowadays, casting is not organically designed. Collaborations between agencies and bribery lead to the inclusion of many unfamiliar faces in the show. Previously, the show featured big celebrities, controversial figures, and well-known names. However, it now seems more focused on launching new faces. Bigg Boss needs to return to its original format, restricting makeup and outfit promotions. To spice things up, Bigg Boss may need more excitement, which could be achieved by inviting intriguing wildcards or challengers.”
