Badtameez Dil fame Asmita Sood, who was last seen in the tv show Dil Hi Toh Hai, is now all set to essay a negative role for the first time. After a break of almost three years, the actress will be seen playing a character with negative shades in the show Janam Janam.
Asmita talked about it during a recent interview and said, “I am tired of playing the sugary sweet girl roles in TV shows. It was time for a change and to do something different. Negative roles have more meat and scope and this character will help me portray a different role. The show is about reincarnation and I am excited to start shooting for it.”
She added, “Two years we all went through the pandemic. I traveled solo to Europe after Dil Hi Toh Hai got over and then I curated a music festival. Over the years, I have decided that just being an actor is not enough. You need to diversify and learn different things and in the process, I became an entrepreneur. Travelling has helped me learn new things about places and myself. This year I decided to travel to India because it has become difficult to travel abroad with cumbersome visa procedures.”
Talking about the changes TV industry is going through, the actress shared, “It is great that newcomers are getting opportunities, but it is also important that actors who have done 1-2 shows get offers, too. Things have to work for both, newcomers and seasoned actors, who have been around for some time.”
