The hall was decorated in a grand manner after all it’s the metha and khanna function
Both the families decided to each there early to make sure everything is perfect
Avni and riya were upstairs in a room getting ready
Diksha was doing Avni hair while riya was almost ready and was applying lip gloss
Diksha looked at avni through the mirror.. usually a girl is happy on her engagement but here only one of her niece was happy while the other one was lost in her world
Diksha: Avni
Avni: hmm she said looking at diksha though the mirror
Diksha: u still have time… if u r not happy with this relation end it
Avni in her head: how can I end it bua… dadi is in a debt and Neil’s Bebe is ready to help. If I say no then god knows what will happen as dadi wont take help from anyone in the family
Diksha: Avni she said calling out to her again
Avni: huh?
Diksha: did U hear what I said
Avni: Haan bua I did. And I have no objection in this relation
Diksha turned Avni around and sat in front of her holding her hand
Diksha : bacha I know what it is like when a marriage doesnt work out .. I was not happy with the way things were working out …and instead of staying in a relation like that we decided to end she said referring to her husband
Avni and riya looked at each other
Riya: u still love him don’t u? She said coming next to diksha
Diksha smiled sadly
Diksha: Maybe yes but love can’t be the only thing that would make a relation work… there should be understanding between partners, trust, communication, somewhere all that was there in the beginning of our married life but soon that started to fade away
Avni: bua y didn’t u talk to hansmukh phufa ji and try to sort it out
Diksha: sort out what? When I tried to talk to him about it he said I was over-reacting… anyways forget about me come on today is your both engagement.
Shweta: diksha r the girls ready she said entering the room to see avni and riya well dressed

Shweta: oh my gods u both r looking gorgeous
Diksha: of course they will after all I got them ready and on top of that they r my nieces
Shweta: that is true… anyways come the guest have started to come and u both stay here till then.. she said to Avni and riya while she took Diksha away
Meanwhile downstairs
Ashish was talking to one of the guest who he knew very well.
Dev purohit: Ashish I must say u r very lucky they your daughter and niece have got a very good life partner especially your daughter Avni. She is very lucky that she is getting married to Prakash khanna son Neil
Ashish gave a fake smile and nodded on the mention of Avni
After few mins Prakash entered with Neil and Ali who were in their sherwanis
Prakash and Ashish saw each other.. Ashish went to Prakash and greeted him. While Ali and Neil took his blessing.
Prakash: how r u Ashish ji
Ashish: all good. And please just call me Ashish…what about u
Prakash: fit and fine like always…
Shweta called Prakash so he excused himself while Ashish stayed with Ali and Neil
Ashish: so Ali all ready to Engage to my riya
Ali: of course uncle although I know I will have to tolerate her drama but at the same time I will be enjoying it he said joking
Neil and Ashish laughed. Ashish turned to look at Neil and placed his hand on Neil shoulder
Ashish: Neil… beta I have no problem with u… but there is still time to back out of this relation instead of spoiling your life with that girl.
Neil: no uncle I have no regret in getting engaged to Avni… we both agreed to this relation mutually…
Ashish: it was my job to let u know rest is up to u he said giving a smile to Neil and left
Ali : I’m surprised to see Ashish uncle here
Aman:. That is because dadi convinced him to come… ali and neil turned to see aman come towards them
Ali: how?
Aman: I heard Neelu maa telling nanno that dadi said to dad that if he considers riya di as his niece and doesn’t have a problem with her then he should attend it for her sake.
Ali: that was a smart move.
Neil: by the way aman has Dd come yet
Aman: dd who was with us at the case when we all were at the caf?

Aman: yeah I saw him getting told off by Shweta aunty about something.
Bebe: what r u boys doing over here… come on meet some of the guest .
Neil: ji Bebe come Ali

Aman nodded and went with Bebe
Meanwhile upstairs in the room riya was taking selfies while avni was busy playing with her bracelet
Riya: babes come on pose she said sitting next to Avni on the couch
Avni smiled at riya antiques and riya took that as an Opportunity and took a pic
Neela and hetal came into the room
Hetal: u both r look very beautiful she said applying kala teeka on them
Neela moved forward and cupped both of Avni face
Neela: forget the past bacha and live the moment… take this as a sign and start dreaming again like before where u imagines yourself as a bride waiting for your prince charming to come and take u… today is your engagement day… don’t think negative think positive… Neil is a nice guy and I know he will always keep u happy… she said with tears in her eyes while a smile was playing on her face.
Riya hugged hetal from the back both looking at avni and Neela
Avni shook her head slightly and wiped Neela tears
Avni: I agree but i don’t know if I will be able to do all that again. That Avni is long gone.
Neela: no that Avni is somewhere in u but u r just not letting her come out.. but I know one day we will get our old Avni back whose smile will reach her eyes and our heart again. She said kissing Avni forehead
Dayawanti: come on what is taking u so long she said walking in with nanno
Nanno: dayawanti ji they r getting engaged today of course they will take time to get ready. U r acting like they will quickly get ready like us oldies
Dayawanti: Fatima ji please u can call yourself old but I’m still young
Nanno: really.. please tell me from what angle do u look young she said placing her hands on her hips
Dayawanti: from all angle. Everyone always ask me how I have maintained myself all this these years.
Riya: here they both start again she mumbled which made everyone smile.
Dayawanti: come on now lets go down.
Dayawanti gestured Neela and she understood
Once dayawanti and nanno left Neela held Avni hand
Neela: bacha I need to tell u something
Avni: what happened mama
Neela: actually Ashish is downstairs so… Avni moved her hands away
Avni: y? has he got more things to say? She said angrily as she didn’t expect Ashish to come there
Neela: bacha if he hadn’t come then people would talk thinking it’s a daughter engagement and her own dad is not even here
Avni: so they won’t be saying anything wrong she said turning around
Neela moved toward Avni and turned her around
Neela: u r saying all this in anger otherwise even u would have agreed.. Ashish wasn’t going to come but maa told him… I told u this right now so u don’t spoil your mood after seen him
Hetal: Neela bhabi lets go down now before someone else comes up
