BACK TO US … AGAIN PART 3
Nearly colliding with the cabin door of manager’s room she walked out. When Bank is buzzing with hundreds of customers and scam raids all eyes target you if you are taking a day off and so was the case with her too.
But some other day! Some other day she was going to think about all this. Today all she cared was mending this rough patch in her life.
“Swara you seem in hurry, something important? Or a date with husband?” commented Nidhi from the counter next to her.
“Both.” collecting her things she smiled to her over the middle wall.
“You must agree Manager favors you,” leaning on the same wall Nidhi again commented.
“It is not like that, i said i needed some medical emergency.” and she winked to Nidhi.
“Okay, enjoy your time.” Wishing her, her work place neighbor again turned to her screen for she needed to work on the long cue waiting for the lunch hours to end.
Looking for his Smoke Grey ecosport she thought to text him, when appeared a text from her sister Ragini , “ hey , why don’t you two visit us for a dinner someday?” and as she was looking at it she got another one asking, “you free?”
“Yup, lunch break.” And she sent it.
“So what about my invitation?” came another text as she looked back to screen after a quick glance to the opposite road.
“I will think about it.” She replied back feeling bad cause her sister had visited them quite a few times from the time she had shifted here but she herself could never make the visit despite her so many persuadings.
“Then I hope I need to wait for another birth.” Another reply popped up with the angry red face Emozi.
Smiling on her antics as she started typing the usual apology when came the horn and looking up she found his car next to her.
Texting she will talk her later and grabbing the hold of her bag she opened the passenger door and took the seat.
“Where are we going?” she asked as soon as he steered the car in the same lane hurriedly because for their home they needed a U- turn from her bank.
“Clinic…you said you needed an eye checkup.” He answered casually and she halted in the process of fastening her seat belt which was not clicking by some reason.
“He was hearing her last night.” Her heart told her and it was one beautiful thing to know after so many days.
She suddenly felt an urge to hug him but it would feel really awkward she thought inwardly and again concentrated on securing the belt.
“Is there some problem with it?” when it didn’t secure he asked her.
“Yeah, the click sound is not coming.” She said again trying to fix that.
“Let me check.” He said pressing the breaks and lining the vehicle to the side.
He too tried but perhaps the seat belt was today thinking to play the Cruella auntie when she had planned something for them.
“Leave it; let’s move if someone will stop we will let them see the issue.” Referring to the traffic police she removed the belt.
“Show me the phone torch.” He said looking into the latch slot.
A bit puzzled she showed him the torch and suddenly he smiled. “See what is stuck there?” he said finally fastening his belt again and turning the ignition.
And it was this small one rupee coin stuck there which was stopping the latch to secure with the click.
And she too smiled on it. “Looks like we need to visit a mechanic too?”
“Unless you don’t think I am a hidden mechanic too.” He quipped focusing on the roads and the ice layer formed from a few days seemed melting away.

“There isn’t much, and the strain in eyes is because you are working on the screen too much…I am prescribing this eye drop and get these glasses.” Completing the checkup the specialist told her. “Also the receptionist will provide the booklet with a few simple exercises …you will feel at ease.”
“Okay, thank you.” she thanked the doctor.
“Done?” he asked as he found her coming to the waiting area.
“Yeah, a simple glass and one eye drop for the straining.” Giving him the prescription she told.
“You never asked why I took the leave and came with you.” She asked as they rounded their car after taking the glasses and the eye drop.
“Well, I thought for this checkup,” and they were again back to zero.
Swallowing the urge to say anything nonsense she took a deep breath and took the seat.
“I thought why don’t we go for a movie today…it is so many days since we watched one.” She asked.
“Okay, but just now your doctor warned you to watch the screen unnecessarily.” He replied biting his lower lip inwardly as if stifling his smile and she looked to his side not believing he joked with her like everything was okay.
“What… he asked as he found her staring him.
And in response he got a smack on his arm “if I knew you would be this mean afterwards I had never let you propose to Me.” she said angrily.
“Oh now I become Mean.” He smiled visibly.
“Exactly…you were not talking to me in eyes. I was dying to get a response and you were just too busy….sorry TIRED.” She said looking away from him.
“But I was really tired last night.” He again smiled as he overtaken the bus ahead of them.
“Don’t talk about last night,” she was not bearing those smiles now.
“Well, I thought we were going to watch the movie. That plan still in making.” He asked trying to evaporate the heat.
“No, doctor warned me to watch the screen unnecessarily.” She replied the same thing.
And after a few minutes of silence the road taken the sharp turn, suggesting only one place she was very much familiar with and loved going with him but she thought to keep quite.
“Beautiful fishes are waiting, let’s just meet them Swara.” He said opening the passenger door for her in front of that Marine Sanctuary she loved going with him from the time they were in college.
