BACK TO US….AGAIN PART 2
Through the bright day light her eyes snapped open; glancing to her side she took a breath of relief. It was only five minutes to seven, not too late. She had enough time to manage everything.
Caressing the hairy hand which had been circling her to him she felt good, at least Sleep was one escape from anything bad. Sometimes she wished she got one more holiday to be just this way, leaning beside him in the mornings , she wished it was the same 60s when women were the housewives and not this working robot she had become.
Keeping his arm away she sat cross legged and rubbing her eyes looked to the agitated nightingale that like every day was knocking the glass door of balcony window and she smiled, “thinking that another nightingale was looking him back it kept knocking the glass with her red beak.”
“Swara, open the window so her illusion is broken.” Pulling the covers over him he sounded irritated of the noise.
“Let her live in the illusion, its more beautiful that way.” She thought inwardly but walked to open the window and let the nightingale search her mate next balcony.
“Sorry Bulbul, the man in covers is so grumpy….see you tomorrow.” Opening the glass she whispered to the now angry bird that was making more noises before taking the flight for day.
“Can you come and take me from bank….it’s your half day right?” she asked pinning her hairs securely in the bun.
“But you will be free at 5?” he pointed obviously attempting a pretend wearing his shoes.
“I will take the leave in lunch.” She replied now turning her attention to him.
“ok.” He mumbled lifting the teak brown blazer.
“I’ll help you.” She said helping him with the blazer and dusting the imaginative creases hoping he might want to know why she was asking for it.
But he never asked back and she felt hopeless again but not trying to feel down at the start of the day she tried brushing it away.
“If you are done let’s leave.” He said turning already when she stopped him and hugged, trying to cover every distance if it was there and feeling him close if he was ever distant.
“What happened?” He asked surprised with this sudden gesture.
“Well I needed to hug you.” She mumbled still hugging him but he never hugged her back.

The soft white linen that the owners said was hand-woven felt warm and cozy, the early morning breeze which was entering fluttering the same white color curtains also fragranced the room with the sweet scent of garden flowers.
It was heaven and she had agreed her husband has a taste also he knew what she liked.
Wishing to feel the serene hills and greens she tried to come out from the bed when the arm on her waist stopped her.
“Where do you think you are going?” came a sleepy enquiry.
“Thought to explore this place.” She replied pulling the lace jacket of that nightwear she was wearing.
“We will explore later …together. Let’s just explore something more interesting.” He suggested with eyes wide open and showing the fun hidden in them.
“shhh, we are in bed from 8…let’s just leave it now.” She said utterly embarrassed of his offer.
“Oh …looks like someone is blushing.” He said catching the lace and dropping it on floor.
She was pulled to his chest and skin to skin they explored the things he had mentioned in morning in the green planes, stealing the glances from the innocent maidens of those hills…..Again.
“Will we always be this way?” she had asked resting on his arms.
“Yes, we will try.” He had assured earnestly.
“What if we fail, what if we could not try enough someday.” It was one of those beautiful moments which haunt you with the pleasure it comes with and which seems so unreal.
“Then just hug me tight, I will remember this moment.” And planting a chaste kiss on her head he closed his eyes.
Winds are not meant to stay the same always, they depend on the waters they are coming from and Water….well, all know it has no color of itself; it turns to the color dissolved in it whether the color of love or the color of hate.
The hug was meant to bring back the memory but perhaps much time has passed and now this hug wasn’t enough to take them to that one morning and one belief……Perhaps.
