Actress Prakriti Nautiyal, last seen in the TV show “Barrister Babu,” embarked on a new chapter as she got engaged in Dehradun today. The lucky groom-to-be is Vandit Shah, a stock trader hailing from Mumbai. The engagement ceremony, a simple affair, unfolded with the presence of close family members.
Sharing the intriguing tale of their connection, Prakriti revealed, “It is interesting how I met Vandit. Vandit was one of my classmates’ cousins, and he had gotten married in 2019. I used to have a huge crush on him, but I could never tell him. After he got married, I never thought about him. But in 2020, he lost his wife in the pandemic. It was very unfortunate, and we connected and actually met a few months ago. After we met, we connected well and then decided to take this ahead. Vandit is based in Mumbai, but we got engaged the pahadi way at my home in Dehradun. His mother is very happy for us, and so are my parents.”
Elaborating on Vandit’s qualities, Prakriti added, “Vandit is a very honest and simple guy, and I really like that about him. It is interesting how circumstances brought us together.”
Looking ahead, Prakriti plans to tie the knot next year. She shared, “We don’t want to wait very long. We are planning to tie the knot next year around February or March. He is Gujarati, and I am from Uttarakhand, so the wedding will be done traditionally according to my family’s customs. We are very happy.”
On the professional front, Prakriti is shifting her focus to web shows. She explained, “I won’t be able to commit to a TV show because it is a long-term commitment. I want to work in the OTT space because the shows run for a shorter period of time. I want to focus on my marriage, too.” Notably, Prakriti has showcased her acting prowess in TV shows like “Divya Drishti,” “Barrister Babu,” and more recently, the web show “Pavitra Rishta,” featuring Shaheer Sheikh and Ankita Lokhande.
