Vansh’s eyes shot open as he stared at the ceiling with a sharp breath. He turned to the empty side of the bed and caressed his hand on that place.

“Lashkar-e-Taiba it was.” One of the soldiers said.
“Sure?” Major Sharma asked.
“Yes sir. They were the locals manipulated or maybe sent by the terrorists of the group to either gather them or plant bombs all over Jammu.” Shrinath finished with a sigh.
“But, fortunately one of the doctors got to know about it. Only one bomb blasted.” Batra Sir completed.
“Alive or dead?” Sharma asked.
“Unfortunately dead sir. Riddhima Singhania.” Shrinath said looking at the ‘list’ of the dead.
Vansh who was silently listening had fisted his hands tightly as all eyes were toward him. He looked at Major Sharma.
“I want to take charge of this, Sir.” Vansh said.
“Don’t let your emotions overcome. 1 week and you will be off their. Think about it boy.” Major Sharma, maybe tried testing him.
” I have already decided sir. I want to go. Finish all of them at one glance.” Vansh stated.
“Good then. Be ready.” Major Sharma patted his shoulder ” you all should better be planning it right now ”
All of them saluted Major Sharma, as he left the premises as they got busy with the planning.

” WHAT are you doinnnnn” Riddhima said jumping on the bed and inhaled a sharp breath.
“Did you complete it! I want to listen it na Vansh…you already made me wait so long.” Riddhima whinned and Vansh chuckled pulling her for a cuddle.
Vansh snaked his arms around Riddhima and held the diary while Riddhima rested her head on his chest as he read it.

“That was awesome sweetheart” Vansh said and kissed her multiple times in her face and she giggled.
“All packings done?” Vansh asked.
“Yes ..again Jammu. I think that place loves me so much.” Riddhima huffed.
“Why? You don’t like it?” Vansh asked playing with her pony.
” No…it’s not like that but .. that place is really secluded. Everyone is on serious mode always. I feel like I have to take a gun and stand for protection.” Riddhima said and Vansh chuckled.
“But that’s not bad.” Vansh said
” I know….tch….stop playing now!” Riddhima said and pulled her hairs back.

“Remembering me?”
Vansh turned his head up from the table, where Riddhima stood peeking at the papers on the table.
“I hate you. Go away.” Vansh said and continued scribbling something on the paper.
” It wasn’t my fault.” Vansh heard her voice and closed his eyes tightly.
Don’t look you are just dreaming. Just don’t. She is not here. She can’t be. Don’t look.
Vansh mumbled to himself.
Continuing the planning, he took a sigh of relief and laid on his bed and closed his eyes. Cold breeze flew from the open window to his face.
“Won’t you even look at me?” Riddhima’s voice again came.
“JUST GO!” Vansh screamed in anxiety and shut his eyes tightly.
The morning came, again. Vansh opened the curtains of windows and looked out sipping coffee.
Soon after he came out with his bags and kept them in the car and came back to meet his family.
” Take care of yourself. Don’t worry about us we will be fine.” Uma said and ruffled his hairs.
Vansh hugged her tightly while she did the same. Unknowingly tears were flowing from Uma’s eyes. She didn’t feel to let him go this time.
“You take care of yourself for sure.”, Vansh said breaking the hug and wiped her tears.
She was his mother, he never felt leaving her and Ishani alone. But Ishani took care of everything very nicely.
“When will you be back?” Ishani asked hugging Vansh.
“Don’t know. You also take care of yourself and Ma.” Vansh said and patted her forehead playfully and she smiled.
“Of course I will. I have been doing this for years.” Ishani said acting with pride.
“Exactly. Keep doing the same.” Vansh said and chuckled.
Waving a bye to them, he drove the car towards the headquarters with one of his colleagues.
“Vansh… what’s this mark?’ he asked.
“The battle gave me a big scar.” Vansh replied and this left his confused.
“Jai Hind Sir”
All of them saluted Major Sharma.
“Jai Hind. Hope you all are ready for the training. Look.” He said opening up a map of J&K.
“This is the place where the bombs were transferred to. According to investigators this is a very sensitive area where terrorists roam around in appearance of locals…” And so on continued.
Vansh and others listened to everything properly, as they were to execute the plan. He was not alone, most of the people for the mission belong to the family affected by the blast, and all wanted the same thing to happen…
Revenge
“So how do you think you will finish the base Vansh?” Major Sharma asked.
“Exactly like they did. A blast.” Vansh stated his point of view.
“But sir it can be dangerous. We will be in between the border and many will get affected.” Vishal said.
“So what? Didn’t they do the same? I support Brigadier Vansh.” Tejpal said.
“I didn’t meant it like that Major. We will be shooting every single person dead and place a landmine. So in case any of there members come to check or remake the place, it will be totally gone.” Vansh said, and all smirked.
