“Aren’t you ready yet?” asked Sanskar to Ragini who was playing with Adarsh. She pursed her lower lip and looked at him. He sighed and asked “Tell me” “No black” said she and he looked at her confused for a second then he realized what she meant remembering morning conversation or better to call his order. “Adi bhai can I borrow Pari bhabi’s black saree for today?” he asked Adarsh who gave him what are you talking look. “Sanky you want to wear Pari’s saree? Don’t tell me you really got exchanged when you were born” said Sujata who was standing behind him. “Mom will you be ever stop cracking these silly jokes. I was asking it for Ragini” said he and Sujatha looked at him shocked. He sighed as he turned back to Adarsh. “Pari ka sab kuch tho Ragu ka hai” said he and clapped his hands biting his lower lip. Ragini looked at him emotionally.

“How in God’s name dee used to tie this dori gosh”Ragini struggled to tie the blouse dori. As the door wasn’t locked Sanskar thought Ragini has finished draping the Saree and entered. His eyes fixed on her who was standing near the mirror with the pallu fallen off her shoulder and she trying to tie the dor. Ragini found him staring her and acted swiftly and tried covering herself with the pallu and turned to cover her back. He turned is face other side closing his eyes. “I… I’m sorry” he fumbled as he closed his eyes forcefully. “Can’t you close the door when you are getting ready Ghonchu” said he. Ragini opened her mouth shocked.
“You will always be my Ghonchu friend Ragini” she remembered his words.
“I… I was just” said she and tried explaining. “Cut it. I will be waiting out get ready fast and come” said he and started walking out. “Wo…” said she and he stopped his steps. “Say” said he. “This blouse dori.. Maa can you call maa” said she in a go. He turned and neared her and she looked at him confused unaware of his move. He neared her and stood very close to her. His tall figure made her nervous and she looked back when she felt the stool near her legs and again looked at him. His face had no expressions. He held her left shoulder with his right hand and her eyes moved to her shoulder. He turned her and she stood stumbling. He held the dori and tied it and his hands so close to her skin made her heart beat raise more and she stood numb. It looked like he was teasing her senses. Her skin wanted to feel his touch and she doesn’t know why. She tucked her hair behind her ear. He finished tying the dori and left the room leaving her shocked. She did not expect him to do all this.
As Sanskar descended the stairs he looked at his hand. He felt her fruity fragrance over it which drove him crazy and he was about to touch her skin but then controlled his cravings. In first place those cravings had no reason and were confusing.”Sanky” Adarsh’s voice brought him out of his trance. He looked at Adarsh who neared him biting his lower lip. “You are looking good” said he and Sanskar smiled at him. “Ragu” screeched he when he found Ragini descending down the stairs. Sanskar turned and found Ragini descending and she had tied her hair in a messy bun which increased her beauty and Sanskar felt bound to her beauty. “Ragu necklace” said Adarsh looking at her neck and looking around as if it fell down. “No AJ that’s a grand one I cannot wear it” said she excusing. Adarsh fumed and folded his hand and turned. “Okay okay wait I will wear and come” said she trying to cool him. “No wait I will get” said he and ran to the room.
“Sanky make her wear” said Adarsh forwarding the box. “Me?” asked he widening his eyes. “Don’t tell me you forgot your name also now” said Ram and chuckled. “Dad” said he glaring. “You only” said Adarsh and pushed the box near to him. He jerked and looked at the box. “Bhai she can wear” said he casually. “I…” before Ragini could say Adarsh blurted “She cannot wear as she cannot reach her back with her hands” Sanskar looked at him for second he looked Adarsh the old Adarsh. “She told me” said he and Ragini was looking at him confused. Sanskar looked at Ragini. “I have a bone problem I get pain if I bend my hand back” said she. He nodded his head in disbelief. He took the necklace and made her wear. “Can we leave now?” Ragini came to reality with his words. She nodded her head weakly and walked behind him.

“Hello Mr. Khanna” said Sanskar shaking his hand with Mr. Khanna who was standing to welcome the guests to the Party. Ragini who was looking back did not notice and bumped into Sanskar. He fumed and looked back at her and gave her what are you doing look. She uttered a sorry looking at him. “She must be Mrs. Maheshwari?” asked Mr. Khanna pointing at Ragini. Sanskar nodded his head smiling weakly. “Must say she is pretty” complimented Mr. Khanna and was about to drag his hand from Sanskar’s hold something within Sanskar made him to clutch his hand more tight and almost crushed Mr. Khanna’s hand who looked at him confused wincing in pain and trying hard to get out of his hold. Sanskar smirked and marked “My Wife” and plastered a smile on his lips. Everytime the words “My Wife” from Sanskar’s voice used to make Ragini’s heart beat raise to an infinite speed. He finally left Mr. Khanna’s hand and encircled his hand around her shoulder and dragged her more close to him and walked proud. She kept staring him. And he wasn’t unaware of her gaze. “I just said it. I did not mean it” he cleared himself. Though the words were not meant still they were more meaningful than any word in the world for Ragini. She was not understanding what was happening to her.
“Common Mr & Mrs Maheshwari how can you escape dance please” pleaded Mr. Khanna. Sanskar held Ragini from her elbow and dragged her to the stage. “Sanskar I don’t know dancing” said she helpless. He held her from her waist and dragged her close to him and she looked at him shocked. His touch made her go crazy all over again and sent a shiver down her spine.

And they moved with the music. Ragini closed her eyes when their breaths mixed.
As the gathering filled with the claps they came to reality and departed jerking. Something happened in that short span of time. A fear in Ragini’s heart that she is loosing to him and she will fail in her mission which was most important for her. She looked around scared. Scared of the new feelings arising in her heart and for….
For the reflection of feelings she felt in Sanskar’s touch. She can’t let him start feeling for her. Not now. She had no assurance of her life and she cannot break him at any cost. She squeezed her hands not understanding or finding ways to get out of this new situation which could spoil her plans. She has to act swift now.
Sanskar held his thumping heart and looked at Ragini who was facing her back not looking at him. He remembered their closeness and her fragrance and it made him lose again. He shook his head to come out of that spell. But once the feelings crawl in your heart how much ever you try, you cannot escape them. Only your feelings can decide how they will change color. Did he ever loved Swara the question started popping in his mind more often now and he had no answer for it.

“Where did she go now?” Sanskar looked around searching for Ragini in the party. She just disappeared. “She doesn’t know anyone here and place also. Is this the way to behave” he huffed in anger. As the time passed worry covered him. He was getting scared. “How stupid someone can be” he hit his fist to the car and pulled his hair looking around. He neared the garden and looked around. His life returned when he found her. She wasn’t alone. He could hardly recognize the person. He walked slowly not to disturb. As he neared his vision cleared and his eyes popped out. She hugged him folding her hands around his shoulders and tears flew from her eyes. Sanskar’s eyes turned red looking at them. He gritted his teeth. He looked around not finding ways to react. His anger had reached peak and he was out of control. He took a deep breath and walked back to the venue.

“So?” asked Sanskar sitting on the couch in the room when Ragini was removing the ornaments sitting in front of the mirror. She looked at him through mirror. He was sitting on the couch with his hands resting on his knees and his eyes glaring the ground. She was confused was he talking to her. He raised his head when he did not get any answer. His eyes fierce and bleeding red. She wondered what did she do now. He wasn’t this angry when he found her instead of Swara. He got up from his place and neared her. He held her hand and dragged her and pinned her to the wall. “You said you love me right baby” said he trailing his finger over her jawline. Ragini looked at him horrified. She had no answer. He smirked and neared her and breathed in her fragrance and his closeness made her heart beat wild. “How about we move on in our marriage” Ragini’s heart skipped a beat and she pushed herself to the wall and looked at him. She tried getting out of his hold but he held her from her shoulder and pushed her to the wall further. And touched her face with his nose. “Please Sanskar” pleaded she and tears flew down her eyes and covered her face.
He kissed her cheek and she felt the fear. Fear of his intentions. His right hand moved over her shoulder and he held her pallu and grabbed it. Ragini felt difficult to breath. “No” gasped she.
“Why Sweetheart? I’m your husband and you love me that’s why you married me also. Now what is stopping you ha?” asked he as he tried pulling her pallu out of hold. Ragini closed her eyes and held her pallu more tight. “Please Sanskar” she whispered as she felt low. He dragged her to him and in next moment he pushed her and her head hit the wall. She held her spinning head. He held her jaws with his hand and it made her mouth open a bit. “I will tell you why?” said he and jerked her. “Because of that blo*dy Rohan hai na?” asked he gritting his teeth. She looked at him shocked. “And you think you can fool me?” he glared her and she nodded her head as tears still had no barrier. Sanskar’s face was brimmed with sweat as he burned. Burned with all the fire within him. He wiped his nose with his palm and looked at Ragini. He knelt in front of her and cupped her face. “Why did you do this Ragini. Why? Tell me when you loved him why did you entered my life dammit” he screamed and Ragini jerked. She started shivering. He looked at her but his heart was pained. Pained so much which made him blind. He stood up furious and started walking. Ragini got up and held his wrist. She did not wanted to have him the misunderstanding but she cannot let him to know the truth also which will break him into pieces. But she was unaware that her silence was giving him deeper pain.
“I.. I…” she fumbled and as he turned she fainted and he rushed to her and held her from falling. “Ragini… Ragini,,,,” he patted her cheek but she was not getting up. “Tell me once Ragini what is bothering you please” he thought in his mind. He lifted her and walked to the bed and placed her slowly. As he moved from there after caressing her hair. As he got up to leave she held his wrist. “Don’t leave me” said she in half conscious state and he turned and sat beside her. “Tell me what happened Ragini? Don’t you trust me?” he asked her and she did not reply. He kissed her forehead and walked to his couch and sat on it. “You are confusing me more now Ragini. You don’t want to tell the truth and your pain squeezes me squeezes me to death” he thought. Her tears his anger to the extent he could imagine. He has to find out why she was behaving that way. He felt bad for his own behavior. He remembered the doctor’s advice. “I have to tackle it in a different way” he thought and when he was about to sleep the dairy which was peeping from the diary came to his sight and he took it and lied on the couch and started reading

“Adarsh” I said as he closed my eyes like a small kid. He came and stood beside me and I held his shoulder and placed my head on his shoulder. He placed his hand over mine and smiled. We walked on the snow covered roads and were exploring Darjeeling. It is my second year as an intern and Adarsh who was my senior expressed his feelings I have been flying in clouds. As we walked over the street I found a man shouting at a teenage girl. Her face wasn’t clear. I neared them with Adarsh. She was staring ground and shivering. “i…I….. I” she fumbled and I understood she was having difficulty to talk. “What happened bhayya?” I asked the man interrupting the man who shifted his gaze to me. “See madam ji She spoiled all the apples” said he complaining and showing the apples scattered around. “So you will shout at her like this” Adarsh spoke. “I will pay for it” said he and took the money out of his wallet and handed to the man. Then we looked at the girl. She was still staring ground. I don’t know why. But she reminded me of someone. Someone I hate the most. I couldn’t stand anymore. I held Adarsh’s hand and walked from there when she tried saying thank you with stammering voice. Adarsh asked me what am I doing and why. But I was not in a position to answer. She occupied my mind made me furious hell furious.

Ragini moved in sleep which made Sanskar alert he closed the dairy and placed it back in the drawer and acted like he is sleeping. When he felt Ragini did not wake up he sighed and took a deep breath and slept closing his eyes.
