Bigg Boss 16 fame Shiv Thakare opens up about a casting couch experience; says he was taken to the bathroom
Shiv Thakare who rose to fame with his stint, in reality, shows like Bigg Boss and Roadies has faced his fair share of struggle in his initial days. During a recent interview, Shiv talked about a casting couch experience and how it made him wiser and he quickly learnt how to deal with it.
He shared, “Mumbai mein aane ke baad pata chala ki sirf ladkiyo ko dar nahi rehta yaha, ladko ko bhi dar rahta hai.”
He added, “I once went for an audition in Aram Nagar and he took me to the bathroom and said, ‘Yaha pe massage centre hai’. I didn’t get the connection between an audition and a massage centre. He told me, ‘Ek baar aap aao yaha audition ke baad. Aap workout bhi karte ho…’ I just left the place, since he was a casting director and I didn’t want to take any pangas. I am no Salman Khan. But I realised there is no discrimination between men and women when it comes to this (casting couch).”
The actor also shared that he was also called to Four Bungalows by a woman at night. “I told her that I have some work and I cannot make it. To this, she said, ‘Kaam nahi karna?’ You won’t get work in the industry’ and other such things. So they would demotivate you and manipulate you. But I would never get bothered by it”, he said.
Shiv recently bought a car worth Rs 30 lakh. Not just that, he has also opened a snack joint in Mumbai and is planning to expand it in the coming years.
In an interview with ETimes TV, Shiv talked about it and said, “All the hard work I have put in, in the last few years is finally bearing fruits. I am going to take this brand ahead and open more branches. As far as the film is concerned, hopefully, 6 months or 1 year down the line, I might meet you at my film’s premiere and you would praise my work. I am going to work for it.”
