Bigg Boss OTT 2: Avinash Sachdev’s publicist faces threats from Elvish Yadav’s fandom
The tensions and conflicts from reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2 seem to be transcending the confines of the glass-walled house. Participants Avinash Sachdev and Elvish Yadav have been engaged in a bitter feud inside the Bigg Boss house, and unfortunately, the animosity has extended to the outside world. Recently, Avinash’s team shed light on how Elvish’s fandom has initiated a campaign of cyberbullying, not only affecting the Chhoti Bahu actor but also causing collateral damage to his family and team members.
Nidhi Gupta, Avinash’s publicist, who has been representing Bigg Boss contestants for the past four years, expressed deep distress over the comments and messages she has been receiving from Elvish’s fans. While handling trolling and hate from other contestants’ fans was a part of her job, the extent of toxicity and harassment from Elvish’s followers has crossed a line. Nidhi emphasized that while it is natural to support and stand for one’s favorite contestant, issuing death and rape threats to Avinash’s family, friends, and team members is unacceptable and repugnant. Moreover, Elvish’s fans have even targeted Nidhi’s family and friends on social media, leaving her emotionally and mentally drained.
Some of the disturbing comments from Elvish’s fandom, shared by Nidhi, include threatening remarks like “Lagta hai Elvish Bhai tujhe pregnant karke hi chorenge” (It seems like Elvish brother will leave you after making you pregnant) and “Elvish Yadav se panga mat lena, uth jaaoge raato raat” (Don’t mess with Elvish Yadav, you’ll be uprooted overnight).
The incessant harassment is taking a toll on Nidhi’s mental and emotional well-being, as she questions the need for such hate and abuse. Representing various former Bigg Boss contestants, Nidhi has experienced different seasons but never encountered such intense hostility. She advocates for showing support to artists in a positive manner and believes that Elvish himself would not condone such disrespectful behavior from his followers. Nidhi urges for an end to this ugly and hurtful situation, emphasizing that Avinash’s parents, team, family, and friends have done nothing to deserve such treatment.
The prevalence of hate and abuse in the world is already a pressing concern, and Nidhi calls for a more respectful and supportive approach toward the contestants and their teams. The relentless harassment has marred the essence of the show and highlighted the darker side of fandom culture.
