@Xyz Thank you dear
@Angela Thank you so much. Makes me happy to see you enjoying the story.
@Ravneet Thanks a lot
@Yashi Thank you dear
@Angel B Thank you so much. Are you sure you want to hit your dearest ‘Vansh’ 😉? Kabhi socha nahi tha ki aisa bhi din aayega jab mujhe yeh sunna padega!
Yeah, get used to TU dear. Yaha par yahi saari problems chalti rehti hai, it’s not very user friendly you see.
@Ayesha Thank you dear
@Akirti Thank you dear
@Priya Singh Thanks a lot
@Mary Thank you so much. And yes, you’re absolutely right. It’s girls like these who make the entire women’s movement useless and less credible.
What do you think, does Riddhima love Vansh?
Lots of love to you too!
@Cutuuu Aww thanks a lot. Means a lot (^hearts^).
@Jasmine Thanks a lot
@RiansHLoveR Thank you dear. Haha, Vansh definitely has a very good sense of humour you see (^wink^)
@Jayashree Thank you so much. Let’s see if your guess was right or not…
@AarushiSoni Thanks a lot. Well, you’ll soon find out who kidnapped her. Tbh, even I’m very bad at guessing (hehe). Yes, I’m very much fine now thankfully.
@Niyati12 Aww thank you so much. Really means a lot to me (^hearts^).
@Parul Hmm, let’s see….
@Anannya07 Thanks a lot. Lots of love to you as well!
@Pranjal Thanks a lot
@Jayanthi Thank you so much for your insights. Always a delight to read them. You won’t believe it, but even I equally enjoy writing about the cheeky and flirtatious side of Vansh.
.
Also, it’s so sad to see women/girls take unfair advantage of their gender. It kind of decreases the credibility of other women with real issues.
.
I cannot understand, we’re living in the 21st century, but still have no laws for s*xual harrassment on males. Can you believe it – the literal definition of ‘rape’ in IPC section mentions only women as the victims with no mention about men?
I really hope that the man got his due justice later on at least.
@Priyanshi_13 Thanks a lot
@Aisha08 Thank you dear. Haan, bahot saare scenes the include karne ko, aur main dusre chapter mein daalke usse aur stretch nahi karna chahti thi.
@1234Aayu Thanks a lot. Yes, but one of the chapters was even longer than this. I think it was the 9th chapter I guess.
@Priyanka Thakur Thank you so much. We all love to see a little tinge of jealousy in both the leads right?
@Ishu Thank you dear
@Prapti0809 Thanks a lot. Let’s see if your guess is correct…
@Ravi Maybe….or maybe not.
@Shreya Thank you dear
@Pomu Thank you so much. Exactly yaar, such girls get on my nerves too. Because of few blacksheep, the entire gender is often touted to be wrong.
Yes, Riddhima is a woman who has always stood for the right. So it was only fair if she did the same for Vansh too, in spite of the differences between them.
@Pampita There’s already a love trianglw between them. Both Vabsh and Kabir love Riddhima, but she only feels for Vansh. But tbh, I wouldn’t want to focus on this matter more and complicate things further. Hope you understand.
@Maanvika Thank you dear
@Riansh1212 Thank you so much for the lovely compliment. Definitely means a lot to me (^hearts^).
@Priyadharshini Thank you dear
@JJ Thanks a lot
@Vkjhp Thank you dear
@Sree Thank you dear
@Scarlet Flower Thank you dear
@Parita Thank you so much. Yep, two grown up men fighting for a woman. Let’s see who wins in this fight….
@Neetu Thank you dear
@Riaa Thank you so much. Haha, that famous line from a famous film, is kinda true, ngl. I think a girl and a guy can be friends, only if none of them is single/stuck up in a bad relation. Even if one of them ends up lonely, he/she is bound to develop feelings for the other friend. However, that’s just how I feel.
I think we all can kind of forgive Kabir for his remark, after all he was drunk and got a tad little emotional. But even if he hadn’t said that, I don’t think Riddhima would choose him. Tbh, she tries to act all strong and all, but she still could not move over Vansh.
xxxxxxx
Riddhima saw Vansh leaving in his car in a hurry. After having lived with Vansh for two months during her marriage to him, she literally knew him inside out. She could understand only through his mere expressions that there was something amiss with him.
She packed all the necessary things into her purse – phone, a pocket knife and a revolver, and ran outside towards her own car. She sat in it and drove off.
Vansh was quite ahead of her in his black BMW, but she knew that if she sped up, she could manage to catch up with him in time.
As she kept pressing down the accelerator continuously, she could see the black car in front of her become clearer and bigger. But she also had to be careful enough to not get too close for him to notice her. Therefore, she kept a reasonable distance from it too.
Riddhima knew that following Vansh was nothing short of heading into a death trap. She couldn’t possibly act like those dumb heroines in movies, who never informed anyone of their whereabouts before heading into an unknown, dangerous place. And she was not dumb.
With her hands still on the steering wheel, she instructed Siri on her Iphone to dial up Kabir. The call was picked up from the other end in no time.
“Hello Riddhima? Why did you hang up on me all of a sudden?”
“Kabir, I’m following Vansh in my car. I think he’s definitely upto something sinister. He is driving away from the main city into the outskirts. We are on National Highway right now.”
Kabir started panicking and shouted, “No! You won’t do anything of this sort. Come back at once. I can’t let you take such a big risk. You are not on a mission ANYMORE, you don’t need to do this. I’ll handle all of this….”
“You’ve handled enough,” Riddhima cut him off impatiently. “As far as me not being on any mission is considered, then you must know that a mother is never off duty. I’ll do anything to protect my children and my brother from Vansh’s monstrous plans. Besides, we can’t keep letting him get away each time without being held accountable for his actions.
I’ll keep updating you about my whereabouts every half-an-hour or so. And if you don’t get any message even after that, then you know whom to question. Bye!”
Kabir kept screaming and shouting, but to no avail. Riddhima had already hung up.
“Damn you!” he said punching the wall. “Why don’t you understand Riddhima that this is so damn dangerous? WHY? Vansh might not harm his kids out of love for them, but he won’t even take a second to finish you off!”
______
Vansh peeped into the rearview for the umpteenth time. There was a white car, which had been following him since the past twenty minutes. He could not make out the driver’s face as the car was quite far away from his, but he still knew who it was.
“Riddhima!” he growled. “What does this woman now want from me? Why is she following me?”
Vansh started pressing down upon the accelerator, his eyes on the speedometer that showed the arrow rapidly moving from 120 to 1400 to 160km/hr. Now he was driving at a speed of 180km/hr.
Riddhima couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Vansh’s car disappear from her sight in a flash. She looked at her speed. It was 100km/hr, and she couldn’t race faster than this.
She slammed her hands against the steering wheel in frustration.
“How can that man drive so fast? Did he learn that in Army as well?”
Riddhima suddenly recalled all the recent events. She now understood everything.
“So all that flirting and crass talk Vansh did with me was only to distract my mind so that I wouldn’t pay much attention to other important stuff? And what did I do? I wasted my time and energy getting affected and emotional for literally nothing! What a smart-ass that Vansh is!”
She stopped the car abruptly as she came across a junction. There were two roads, one going left and the other going right, and Riddhima had no idea which road had Vansh taken upon.
Riddhima got out of her car, trying to figure out a way, when suddenly, her eyes fell upon the tyre marks on the road going towards the right direction.
This was a relatively unabandoned road, and Riddhima had not seen any other cars ahead of her, except for Vansh’s. This meant that those tyre marks were of Vansh’s vehicle only. His rash driving at an unacceptably high speed had caused these skid marks to appear on the road.
Riddhima mentally gave herself a little pat, and drove the car on the road that led to the right, following the black tyre marks.
After a good 4-5 km, the tyre marks could no longer be seen on the road.
“This must be the point from where Vansh started driving at a normal speed,” she thought.
Riddhima looked all around her. The road was surrounded by a thick jungle on either side, and there was no sign of Vansh’s car anywhere in sight.
She took out her binoculars and saw a checkpost a little distance further away.
“Vansh wouldn’t want his vehicle to get checked up by the police. So obviously, he’d have avoided getting to the checkpost all together. Instead, he must have tried to steer away from the police’s sight into the jungle.”
She parked her car by the side, and ventured into the jungle.
The atmosphere was filled with the chirpings of the birds. Some squirrels could be spotted hopping from one tree to another. With no human anywhere in the sight, Riddhima felt an eerie feeling cross over her. Plus she was also weary of losing her way out of the jungle because all the paths looked so confusing.
She kept walking tirelessly for another 1km, but came across nothing.
“Did I lose him?” said Riddhima in despair.
Just then, as if miraculously, she spotted a black car through the corner of her eye.
“That is Vansh’s car!” she exclaimed.
But the car was empty, and strangely, Vansh was nowhere to be seen around.
Suddenly she heard some hushed voices coming from a little ahead. When she walked in the same direction, she saw two men, clad in oversized hats, long coats, and thick boots speaking to each other in low voices. They wore pitch black sunglasses and had woollen mufflers plastered across their faces.
Riddhima had no idea who these people were. She sneakily went a bit closer and hid herself behind a large banyan tree, trying to eavesdrop upon their conversation.
One of the men spoke, “Talvar, the evidence that you’ve gathered definitely points towards Kabir. But we need more than that if we want to get him prosecuted.
As for that Riddhima, even though we have no proofs against her as of now, but we mustn’t forget that she has always been obeying Kabir’s commands. Who knows, she might also be working as a traitor alongside that Kabir?”
Riddhima listened to this in shudder. Traitors? She and Kabir? Never! They were full blown patriots, who never ever dreamt of going against their country.
So who were these two men throwing such a huge accusation over them? And where was Vansh?
Riddhima realized with horror that perhaps Vansh had planted fake evidences to trap her and Kabir in a false case of treason against the nation. As of now, they had no proofs against her, but Kabir was in trouble. He was an honest Intelligence officer, and it pained her to see him get falsely acquitted in the near future. She knew that she had to get out of here safely and inform Kabir about the impending trouble in his life.
The same man continued, “Talvar, don’t go on Riddhima’s innocent face. She managed to fool Vansh Raisinghania too with her charm, she can fool anyone.
We shall meet again after you collect some more proofs.”
The first man walked away in the opposite direction, until he was completely away from the sight. However, the other man apparently called Talvar, started walking in the same direction where Riddhima was hiding behind a tree.
Riddhima crouched below and held her breath. She could not get caught at any cost. She covered her mouth with her hand to avoid letting out any sound in panic.
With each approaching footstep, Riddhima’s heart started beating faster and her breathing became rapid. Talvar came near the same banyan tree and stopped, but thankfully, he did not see Riddhima positioned right behind the tree.
He stood there for sometime, after which he left in the other direction.
Riddhima heaved a sigh of relief when she saw him go away, but all of a sudden, she felt a hand roughly grasp her arm. It was that same man named Talvar, and he had caught her.
Riddhima tried to put on a brave fight, but she was no match for that man. She dug her sharp nails deep into his arms, causing him to pull back. She tried to point her knife at him, but he pinned her down to the ground and twisted her hand in an attempt to release the knife from her hands.
But Riddhima was not the one to give up so easily. She tried to kick him in the groin, but he held her knees with his arm.
It was then that she knew that her game was up. There was no way she could defeat this largely built and well trained man hovering atop her. She knew what was going to happen to her, but before that, she wanted to see his face. With one swift movement, she ripped out the muffler revealing his face, and at that very moment, she felt something hard being hit against her head. And soon, everything became dark.
______________________________________
Riddhima opened her eyes with a lot of difficulty. Her head was hurting like hell. Her hands and feet were tied up with ropes, and her mouth was plastered with a tape. She looked at her surroundings. She was in a stuffy, dark room with a small door, but no windows.
“I have to get out of here and inform everything to Kabir,” she thought desperately.
Her eyes ran all around the room, frantically trying to lookout for a way of escape. Her glance fell on a glass of water nearby. Thankfully it was within her reach, and she tumbled it over, causing it to shred into pieces. She took hold of a sharp shard of glass, and tried to cut open her ropes carefully. In the process, she mistakenly made a few cuts across her wrist, but she ignored that.
After she successfully untied herself, she picked up a wooden rod from the corner, and stood behind the door, waiting for someone to come inside.
Soon as luck would have it, a man in a black ski-mask and a black jumpsuit entered inside. Before he could know it, Riddhima hit his head with the rod in her hands. He fell to the ground unconscious. Seizing the opportunity, she exchanged her attire with that man. Now donning the same ski-mask and the jumpsuit that the man had bern wearing earlier, she now stepped out of the room. The rest of the men outside who wore similar clothes, consideres her to be one of them, not able to see through her disguise.
When no one was watching, she stealthily ran away from the place.
“I’ve to reach Kabir, before it gets too late,” she thought worriedly.

Vansh was driving on the same highway, but this time was headed back to the city.
From a far distance, he could see a blue car standing across the road, thus completely blocking the path. Vansh kept on honking, but to no avail. He abruptly stopped his car and got out of it, in a bid to teach the careless driver a very good lesson.
To his surprise, he found the car weirdly empty, when suddenly he heard a voice behind him.
It was Kabir. He had turned red with fury and his lips were trembling.
“Where is Riddhima?” he asked.
Vansh looked at him cluelessly. “What are you talking about? I don’t know.”
“All blatant lies! I know you’re the one who has hidden her away,” roared Kabir. “She had informed me that she was following you on this highway. But now, it’s more than an hour, and she has neither messaged me nor given me a call. Moreover, her phone is out of network.”
“Oh yes, she was following me,” said Vansh. “But I dodged out of her sight, I don’t know what happened to her after that….”
“You son of a…..! If Riddhima even gets a single scratch on her body, I won’t blo*dy leave you,” warned Kabir, his eyes blazing. He took out a revolver and pointed it towards Vansh.
“Will you not tell me even now about where Riddhima is?”
Vansh said with a bored expression. “You can’t be serious Kabir. You might lose your job for shooting at me without any proofs.”
Kabir tightened his grip on the revolver and gritted under his teeth. “Oh yes, I’m dead serious Vansh! I might lose the job but I don’t care, Riddhima’s safety is more important to me right now.”
Vansh laughed evilly. “Now this is called true love, isn’t it? Well, I’m really sorry Kabir, but you have left me with no option. Self defence, you see.”
Out of the blue, Vansh too took out his revolver and pointed it at Kabir.
“Let’s see that between the two of us, whose chest the bullet manages to pierce through first….”
The two men kept standing in the same position with guns aimed at each other, and their eyes raging fire.
Suddenly they heard a voice from afar, “Kabir!”
They turned in that direction, only to find a dishevelled Riddhima running towards them.
“Riddhima!” said Kabir happily while Vansh looked on furiously.
When Riddhima was close to an arm’s length to him, Vansh grabbed her and placed his revolver inside her mouth.
Kabir screamed, “Vansh! Leave her, I say!”
“Keep your guns down, Kabir,” said Vansh holding Riddhima down. “Or else, I’ll shoot her. Right now.”
Kabir obeyed him and raised his arms in surrender. “Leave her Vansh. Your enmity should be with me because I was the one to send her as a spy in your life. She was helpless to agree to my condition, just keep her out of this.”
Riddhima tried to struggle and squeak, but Vansh tightened his hold on her.
“Shut up will you!”
Riddhima turned to face him, with tears in her eyes. Vansh looked at her too.
“Don’t you stare at me like that! I was a fool earlier to get trapped in the charm of your eyes, but not anymore.”
Kabir tried to convince him further. “Riddhima is the mother of your children, Vansh. At least have that consideration in your mind?”
“Oh, but did Riddhima have any consideration for the father of her children when she decided to send him to jail, huh?” asked Vansh.
Riddhima realized that she had to do something before any untoward thing happened. She wanted to tell everything to Kabir, but she could not speak anything now because of the gun tightly held in her mouth.
She touched Vansh’s hand and started making strokes on it.
Vansh became irritated. “What are you doing, woman?” He later realized that Riddhima was trying to tell him something by drawing alphabets on his hand.
“RHEA?” he asked getting worried. “What about her? Is she unwell or something?”
As Vansh’s mind got diverted and his grip on her loosened, Riddhima, seizing this opportunity, removed the gun from her mouth and now aimed it at Vansh instead.
Vansh was shocked while Kabir looked on proudly seeing as to how she had turned the tables in their favour.
“Don’t move Vansh,” said Riddhima, her voice shaking. “Or else, I’ll shoot you.”
“I never knew that you would stoop so low,” said Vansh with contempt. “You used your daughter to free yourself from me? How disgusting!”
“Sometimes to do something right, a little wrong has to be done,” Riddhima echoed Kabir’s old words. “And sometimes to prevent a bigger wrong from happening, a smaller wrong has to be done.”
She ordered Vansh to sit down on a rock nearby. When he did not listen, Kabir aimed his gun at Vansh too, and threatened him of dire consequences. Reluctantly, Vansh obeyed them, but his mind was thinking of an alternative plan to defeat these two people.
Riddhima turned towards Vansh and said, “So, what are you thinking about, Vansh Raisinghania? Or should I call you Agent Talvar instead?”
Vansh glared at her, while Kabir looked on shell shocked.
Riddhima continued, “What did you think, that I hadn’t been able to see your face when I pulled the muffler off? Of course, I did. Even though I was hit on the head at the exact same time, but still I managed to have a look at your face.”
Kabir had no idea what was going on.
“Agent Talvar? What are you even talking about?” he was utterly confused.
“Agent Talvar is the codename for Vansh Raisinghania – an undercover RAW Intelligence Officer,” said Riddhima, not able to hide the pride that she felt for him at that moment, in her voice.
Kabir stood there with his mouth wide open. “A RAW Intelligence Officer? This means that you had disguised yourself as a Mafia leader only so as to pass on important information to the RAW agency?”
Vansh clenched his fists. He could not believe that his ex-wife, whom he had underestimated for so long, had managed to spoil all the hard work he had done for so many years. His biggest secret was out in front of her and Kabir now.
Kabir continued, still looking confused, “But how is this possible, Vansh? You were suspended from the Army for firing at a civilian? So how and when did you get into RAW?”
“It was all part of the PLAN,” retorted Vansh. “Plan to infiltrate the Mafia, and thus keep Mumbai safe from the underworld gangs.
“The man I had shot wasn’t an innocent civilian. In fact, he belonged to one of the militant groups, secretly working for the rival countries. But the Army unfortunately had no idea about that and only some of the top Intelligence officials were aware of that man’s real identity. This was all a plan to make me look like a shunned ex-Army officer who after getting suspended from the Army, joined the Mafia to take his revenge for the disrespect.
“This whole had story started few days after we had passed out of Indian Military Academy (IMA), when the Chief of RAW, called me to meet him in his office secretly…..
April 2011, New Delhi
It had all started ten years back, when a comparatively younger looking and a fresh passout from IMA, Vansh, was called upon by the Chief of RAW, Sandeep Goel, to meet him.
Vansh was too excited beyond words to be personally invited by such an important person.
He greeted the Chief with a salute. “Sir!”
“Welcome aboard Lieutanent Vansh Raisinghania.” Goel gestured him to take his seat.
“Topper of your batch, huh?” he said with a smile. “I’ve heard a lot praises to your name from your trainers and coaches.”
Vansh replied, “I feel extremely grateful and honoured.”
“Your father, I heard was a famous businessman in his days. Is that right?”
“Yes,” Vansh replied with a faraway look in his eyes. “But after Dad’s death, Mom has been looking after our family business.”
“So why don’t you return to your hometown, Mumbai, and start handling your family business by yourself? After all, till when will you let your mother slog like this?” said Goel.
Vansh had no idea why they were even duscussing on this topic. “Well, I have a younger brother who will start helping Mom in the business once he graduates out of college. But why are you saying all of this?”
Goel turned serious. “I want to send you on a very important mission, Vansh. And for that, you’d need to go back to your family business in Mumbai, and using your influential contacts, wealth and power, you must infiltrate into the Mafia.”
“Infiltrating the Mafia?” Vansh said out aloud. “But isn’t that supposed to be an internal affair and therefore should be looked after by the Indian Intelligence Bureau, instead of the RAW, which usually looks after the external affairs?”
“The Mumbai Mafia gangs are not only involved in drug smuggling and human trafficking, but their involvement is now extended to even terrorist activities, and they are being helped in this area by the rival countries,” explained Goel.
“So by sending you as an undercover Intelligence agent, we aim to kill two birds with a single stone. Firstly, you’ll pass on all the important information to us, and secondly, you will also help to maintain law and order amongst the underworld gangs.”
Vansh immediately interjected, “Sir, I’m ready for this mission. It would be an honour…..”
Goel cut him off, “Honour is only for those who wear the uniform, like the army, navy, airforce, police. But for an Intelligence official, who camouflages as a common man, who dresses up and lives amongst the ordinary civilians, there is no honour.”
Goel continued, with a grim expression, “When you will be joining the Mafia, you’d have to participate in some of the illegal activities too like smuggling, etc. to gain the trust of the other gangs and their leaders involved.
Many a times it would happen, that your own people, the police and the likes would try to get you arrested for your ‘crimes’.
When you die, you won’t be remembered as a martyr or a brave soldier. The people will always remember you as an Underworld Don, who did many illegal activities and took the lives of many innocent people. They’d curse you, but never respect you.
So if honour and respect is the only thing that makes you want to go on this mission, then might as well you back out.
But if it is the love for the country that gets you going, then I’d be more than happy.”
Vansh thought deeply for a while. “A soldier can never be a good soldier enough, if the love that he has for his country is not more than the love for himself.
And I, Vansh Raisinghania, love my country the most. I don’t care about any damn uniform or medals or badges, all I want is for my people to remain safe and sound.
I am ready to go on this mission, Sir.”
Goel warned him, “Not only yours, but you’d be also endangering your family’s life in the process as well….”
“Nothing comes before the country, not even family, friends, and love. In fact, not even one’s own self….”
Goel smiled at him. He slid a pistol in his direction. “Okay, then. Shoot yourself in the forearm.”
Vansh looked on horrified.
“Didn’t you hear what I said, Lieutenant? I want you to shoot yourself in the forearm,” said Goel calmly. “I want to see how determined you are…”
Vansh grasped the pistol in his hand and aimed it towards his left forearm. His fingers started trembling and he was perspiring heavily.
Goel assured him. “Don’t worry. It contains special bullets that won’t penetrate very deep or cause much damage. However, they’ll hurt like hell, though.”
Vansh closed his eyes, and after a while pulled the trigger.
“Aaahhh!”
His screams echoed throughout the room. His eyes started overflowing with tears and his face became drained of all colour. His hand started bleeding profusely, and the pain was the worst he had ever felt in his whole life.
Goel brought in the first aid, and started bandaging up the wound. “The pain you felt now, is nothing in front of the pain that you shall feel when you will fire on a not-so innocent person as per my orders and then get suspended from your post. You will be stripped off your uniform, insulted, and humiliated….Will you be able to go through all that pain, Vansh?”
“Yes,” said Vansh weakly, the pain taking away all his energy. “I will.”
Precap :
The final face-off.
Hello everyone! So how did you like this twist? Do comment below.
@Jayanthi, your intuition turned out to be true. I tried to keep it under covers, but don’t know how you managed to guess it (hehe)
Peace out!
