@Samistha Choudhary Here is the update
@Mary Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the action sequence. Not gonna lie but I was a little weary of putting it out there thinking if people would like it or not.
Even I’ll miss talking to you and the rest of them too. We had such good conversations over these many months.
@Aditi Thanks a lot
@Anannya07 Thanks a lot. Lots of love to you too and you also take care of yourself.
@Milee Thank you so much. Happy to know that you liked it. This chapter wont have many Riansh scenes, but the next chapter will definitely have. And I’m really sorry, but I need to end this story soon coz there’s nothing else I can show in this.
@Manya Aww thank you so much! That is really sweet of you to say all that (^hearts^). Tbh, it’s only the love and the motivation of the readers like you that led me to this.
@Scarlet Flower Thank you dear
@TSA Thanks a lot. Haha, no one knows wattpad’s glitches better than me. These people should try to do something about it.
@Neetu Thank you dear
@Anaya Aww thank you so much for your wishes! That is really sweet of you. Ayushman bhava to you as well dear.
I’ll try my best to do full justice to the ending. Hopefully you will like it.
Even if I start another FF, I’ll only be able to do it after August. But can’t promise on that though.
@Jayanthi Thank you so much. You never fail to overwhelm me with your compliments and appreciation! (^hearts^). Tbh, when I re-read it, I found the writing in the action scenes to be a little rusty and repetitive. But I’m happy that you liked it in spite of that.
Don’t know why, but I always had this strange craving to see Riddhima, Vansh and Kabir work together as a team, but unfortunately that never materialised in the show.
Even I’m going to really miss chatting with all of you.
@Sahada Thank you so much. That was a very big compliment for me and I really don’t know how to take that. But nevertheless, I feel very happy to see your love towards it.
I know it’s too late to say this, but best of luck for your school as well as for your future!
@Parita Thanks a lot. Don’t worry, everything will get sorted out between them, and this chapter will show that.
@Niyati12 Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it.
@Riaa Thank you so much. Yes, the trio are fire together and they should go on more such missions perhaps, hehe. Like I said to Jayanthi even, I always wanted to see these three together on the show. So somewhere I’m trying to fulfil my unfulfilled desires through this, lol.
Oh how I legit hate it when people treat sports players and actors almost as equivalent to God. Like you can respect them for their work, but don’t blindly worship them.
.
I’ve seen many of my own close relatives and friends badmouth about the police, the Army, the medical professionals. They dont realize that it’s absolutely not right to badmouth about an entire profession just because of few black sheep.
@Anjela Aww thank you so much! You are really sweet. I’m feeling absolutely touched by your words (^hearts^). Lots of love, hugs, kisses and blessings to you as well.

Ten Days Later, Manali
Vansh and Kabir slumped down into the sofa, completely exhausted beyond words.
Kabir began gulping down large sips of water, and it seemed like he hadn’t drunk since ages.
Vansh, on the other hand, unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt, in order to let in some fresh air.
“God, she literally made us to slog like donkeys. I never felt so tired in my life ever. Not even when we were made to do fifty rounds of the ground back then,” said Kabir letting out a loud exhale.
Vansh quipped, “Now you understood why I didn’t want to marry her with all rituals and functions? Because I knew that she’d make me work like anything even in my own marriage as well! That is why, I decided to go for this no-nonsense court marriage.”
Kabir lightly smacked him. “And you had almost given me a heart attack when you said that your’s and Riddhima’s marriage ceremony won’t be held. I almost felt that perhaps you were still angry on her or something.”
“It’s fun to shock your friends once in a while, though,” Vansh grinned. “But to be honest, I had half expected that you’d be happy to know that I and Riddhima won’t be getting married. After all, you used to have a thing or two for her….”
Kabir appeared flustered. “Shut up Vansh! I know I had acted sheepishly, but that was because I was drunk. And Roshan pumping me up did not do much help either.
But you….I don’t think you’ll ever let me forget that, will you?”
“Of course. I’ll keep reminding you about that until one of us dies,” Vansh chuckled.
“Papa, papa!” Reyansh and Rhea came running towards him.
Vansh made them sit on his lap and cuddled them. “Hey, my Princess and my Prince!”
Rhea started sulking. “I’m not a Princess anymore. I’m a Power Puff Girl!”
“A power…what?” asked Vansh getting confused.
“Papa, you are so big but you still don’t know anything,” she scolded him. “Power Puff Girls are three little brave girls who fight against the evil people.”
Vansh kissed Rhea. “Okay, my Princess….oops sorry, my Power Puff Girl.”
Now it was Reyansh’s turn to get crossed with his father. “And don’t call me as Prince. I want to fight the monsters off like Ben10.”
“Okay, okay my Ben10 and my Power Puff Girl, what do you both want? Your Papa will always remain at your service,” said Vansh doing a little bow before them.
“We want to play Ludo!” the kids said in unison.
Leaning towards Kabir, Vansh muttered, “What are these kids even made up of? They never get tired and are always ready for another game.”
Now facing the children, he said, “Sweeties! Have you both seen the time? It’s too late and almost time to go to bed.”
“Please Papa, please….” they continued to coax him.
Vansh sighed. His biggest weakness was that he could never say no to the twins. And that was something even the children knew of and that is why time and again, they took undue advantage of it.
“Alright, alright. But we play only one round, that’s it.”
“Yay!” Rhea and Reyansh squealed in excitement.
Kabir who saw all this, warned Vansh. “If Riddhima gets to know that instead of putting your children to bed you are busy playing with them, she will give you an earful.”
But Vansh brushed him off. “You might be scared of that woman, not me! She might act as a lady don in front of the world, but for me she is a nobody!”
Kabir’s eyes widened when he saw Riddhima sneak in behind Vansh, overhearing everything that he was saying.
He tried to shush him up, but Vansh being Vansh, was in no mood to stop his bickering.
Riddhima who had happened to hear everything had had enough. She cleared her throat to announce her presence.
Vansh felt terrified to find her standing right behind him. He smiled meekly at her.
“I’m what, a lady don? And a nobody too?” she repeated his words, with her arms folded across her chest.
“I was just kidding, sweetheart,” replied Vansh nervously.
She started blasting him. “Oh really? What kind of a husband you are who has no consideration for his wife who has been busy the whole day? I just went away for sometime to escort Roshan and Ronita to their bedroom for their nuptial night ceremony, and you are here, backbiting about your wife in front of your best friend!”
Reyansh and Rhea tried to suppress their laughter. Watching their father get scolded by their mother was always a fun scene to watch.
“What are you two laughing at? Off to your bedroom right now,” said Riddhima sternly.
Reyansh and Rhea turned towards Vansh for support, but when they found none, they obediently headed upstairs.
“What kind of parenting is this, Vansh? You can’t fulfill all of their demands like that. It’s freaking 12 am right now and you were busy entertaining them with your lame jokes and the likes,” said Riddhima.
Kabir started giggling looking at Vansh’s miserable ordeal.
Vansh glared at him. “Laugh how much ever you want, Kabir. You’ll understand my pain only after you yourself get married.”
“That is one of the top reasons why I do not want to marry ever,” said Kabir.
“Well my dear friend, I will make sure you get married by the end of this year…oops sorry, by the end of this month,” smirked Vansh.
Kabir folded his hands pleadingly. “I know why you want to get me married Vansh. You want to take your revenge from me, right? I swear, I’ll always look at Riddhima as my sister-in-law from now onwards…”
“So previously in what way you used to look at her, you moron?” Vansh asked getting irked.
“Shut up you two!” Riddhima chided them. “God, I can’t believe it. You guys are talking such things about me when I’m sitting right beside you. I can only imagine about the kind of conversation you guys would have had about other girls back in the days of IMA.”
“When I first joined IMA, I was a really ‘good’, simple and decent guy,” Kabir tried to defend himself. “But Vansh’s corrupt company polluted my mind completely!”
Vansh said, “If my corrupt company would have had even the slightest effect upon you, then today, at least one girl would have been seen in your arms. To be honest, you have throughly disappointed me, Kabir. Not even one girl? Like seriously?”
Riddhima interjected, “Kabir is sincere and a through gentleman. Not like you Vansh, an incorrigible flirt!”
Vansh narrowed his eyes at her, but she ignored him and continued speaking to Kabir.
“But on a serious note, even I feel that it’s high time that you get married.”
“See? See? Even my sweetheart agrees with me now,” beamed Vansh.
“Riddhima, not with you too starting this again,” said Kabir.
“Why not? You tell me what kind of girl you want, and I’ll personally start looking for her,” offered Riddhima.
“But I already have one in mind,” said Vansh with a mischievous glint in his eye. “And that is none other than Ronita’s cousin – Nikisha!”
Kabir started choking as soon as he heard this name. “No way! Keep that ‘Miss Bold and Beautiful’ and immature wannabe away from my sight. Can’t stand her even for a second!”
“Exactly! She’s too hot to handle. And this very boldness of her’s will help to keep the spice up in your marriage, considering how you are a complete bore yourself,” remarked Vansh.
Looking at Kabir’s disgusted expression, Vansh started laughing hilariously. “Oh my, my! Just look at your face! I was merely pulling your leg, dude.
Not Nikisha, but I have someone else in my mind for you.”
Kabir sat up straight.
“Who?”
“Oh! This much desperation to meet her?” Vansh teased him. “Don’t worry, I won’t trouble you anymore. Be ready by sharp 10 AM in the morning. You have a date with her.”
“A date?” Kabir gasped. “Listen, I’m not going to meet anyone, understood?”
“Now there’s no backing out. Everything’s been arranged. And if we cancel the date at the last moment, then the poor girl’s heart will break. I’m sure Kabir that you wouldn’t want to be the reason behind an innocent and beautiful girl’s tears in the night,” said Vansh.
“You can’t be serious?”
“Of course we are, Kabir,” said Riddhima putting her arm around Vansh. “She’s a very nice girl, and mature too, just like how you wanted. She’s just a little clingey. But I think you can handle that.”
Kabir tried to protest further, but Vansh cut him off with a loud yawn. “Listen, I’m really, really sleepy now. So good night for now. See you tomorrow.
And remember don’t be late, because you know how much I hate impunctual people.”
Saying this, he took Riddhima by her arm and headed towards their room.
On the other hand, a perturbed Kabir sat there itself, lamenting upon his ill fate and his mean set of friends.
______________________________________
“Come on Vansh, wake up! It’s already time!”
This was almost the hundredth time that Riddhima had called Vansh out, but no, he wouldn’t budge a bit.
Vansh continued to sleep, snoring his way away. He lay on his stomach, his arms tightly wrapped around his pillow. His long legs were spread wide on the bed. Half of the duvet covered him, while the other half hung below the edge of the bed.
Riddhima shook her head in annoyance at the messy manner in which he slept.
“Let me sleep!” he said grumpily, burying his face into the pillow.
An idea struck Riddhima. She brought out a glass of water and splashed it upon Vansh’s face.
“What the hell!” he grumbled, waking up with a start. “What is this way to wake someone up?”
“And what is this way to sleep?” She shouted at him back. “Have you seen the time? It’s already 10 AM, and you had promised Kabir that you’d be escorting him for his date.”
Vansh jumped out of his bed. “Oh shit, shit! Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?”
Riddhima could not believe this man’s audacity. He always loved to blame other people for his mistakes.
“I’ve been waking you up for the past one hour! But you being your regular self, were busy in your own sweet dreams.”
Vansh rushed into the washroom. “Give me my towel, shampoo, deo, gel and comb. Also take out some nice pair of clothes for me.”
Riddhima huffed. “Excuse me? I’m not your personal assistant. Why should I always be the one to suffer for your laziness? And you don’t need ‘nice’ clothes. Regular ones would also do. It’s not your date, but rather Kabir’s.”
She unwillingly picked up his required commodities along and knocked at the door of the washroom.
She suddenly felt herself getting pulled by her arm, and soon found herself standing face-to-face with Vansh.
“We are already really late, and you are still thinking about romance….”
Vansh put a finger on her lips and hugged her.
“Vansh, what happened?” she asked getting worried.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“For everything. For hurting you.” Vansh’s voice cracked up. “For maligning your character in front of everyone. For…”
Riddhima shushed him up. “It’s all in the past, and we don’t need to remember those painful moments anymore.”
Her eyes welled up. “And you’ve already told me sorry ample number of times before. To be honest, I’ve always been on a much wronger side than you. Because of me, Dadi passed away. Because of me, you had to stay away from your own children for these many years.
I don’t think, I’ll ever be able to forgive myself for all this….”
Vansh lifted his hand up to wipe off her tears. But instead, his hand collided with the tap, turning it on, and causing them to drench in the shower.
“I love you, Vansh.” She nuzzled her nose with his. “I really do.”
“But not more than me,” he said pulling her closer to him.
“Mumma, Papa! Where are you both?” Reyansh’s voice came from outside, breaking them from their trance.
“Here, here sweetie. I’m coming right away!” Riddhima replied.
She came out panting and puffing and dripping wet from the shower. Soon, Vansh followed her outside too.
Reyansh started eyeing them suspiciously.
“Mumma, you told me right that when someone is inside the washroom, no one else should enter it. Then why were you both inside together?”
Vansh started looking here and there while Riddhima appeared flushed.
“Uhm…well…actually the shower wasn’t working well and Papa had soap in his eyes. So I had to go inside to help him,” she lied instead.
“Oh, now I understand,” said Reyansh leaving from there.
“He’s smart and inquisitive. Just like his dad,” praised Vansh.
Riddhima throwing daggers at him said, “But hopefully, he doesn’t turn out to be self obsessed like you.”

Riddhima applied the brakes and deftly managed to park the car in the narrow space.
Kabir got down from the car, nervously looking at the big signboard in front of him.
“THE VINTAGE CAFE”
“I feel like a school kid whose parents are dropping him off for his first day at school,” whined Kabir. “Don’t tell me, you both are coming with me inside too.”
“I don’t trust you Kabir,” said Vansh coolly. “Who knows? You might run away from here without meeting the said girl? We can’t take such a big risk, you know.”
Riddhima smiled at them. Now she had got used to Kabir’s and Vansh’s non-stop banter. But intially she had found it hard to believe when she saw the transformation in their relationship from being at constant loggerheads to being best friends.
Standing at the entrance of the cafe, Vansh pointed towards a girl. “There, is your date.”
Kabir was stunned when he saw who it was. He almost tried to make a run out of the cafe, but Vansh managed to catch him on time.
“You guys are crazy or what? You want to set me up with Ahana?”
“Yes. You’re lonely, she’s lonely too. What’s the problem, then?” quizzed Vansh.
“I freaking kidnapped her from her own wedding! I can’t possibly date her,” said Kabir getting paranoid.
“But she doesn’t know that though,” remarked Vansh.
“You can’t be serious! I can’t hide such a big truth from her. It’s almost equivalent to betraying her.”
Riddhima calmed him down. “Relax, Kabir. First, talk to her and get to know her. If things click between you both, you can come clean and tell her everything.”
“No way!”
“Are you going by yourself or you want me to literally drag you towards Ahana like a wingman?” said Vansh.
Kabir made a face and unwillingly approached Ahana’s table and tapped on it.
“Excuse me? Ahana?”
Ahana looked up from her phone and flashed him the most beautiful smile ever. Kabir’s heart skipped a beat. It had been a really long time since a pretty girl ever smiled at him.
“You must be Kabir. I had been waiting for you since quite some time…”
Kabir ran his hand over his head sheepishly. “Uh oh, actually I had to attend a wedding yesterday night. That’s why woke up late. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, though.”
“It’s completely fine,” said Ahana.
The cafe was bustling with a lot of crowd. Taking advantage of this and while avoiding Ahana’s sight, Vansh and Riddhima managed to find a table for themselves in a corner. They weren’t very far away, and could easily listen to Kabir and Ahana’s conversation too.
Ahana’s back was turned towards them, but Kabir could easily spot the couple sitting right across him. He became irritated when Vansh flashed him a thumbs up sign from there.
Kabir and Ahana spoke about some random stuff. But every single time, it was only Ahana who initiated the conversation. Kabir on the other hand, just went with the flow. To be honest, he was nervous like hell, because the only girl he had ever spoken directly to was Riddhima. And now she was his best friend’s wife.
“What do you do for a living?” Ahana asked suddenly.
Kabir started coughing violently over his coffee.
“Are you alright?” she asked sounding worried.
“Yes, I am fine,” he said after a while. “I work as a physical education teacher in a school.”
This was actually true. Like Vansh, even Kabir had a dual identity. He couldn’t possibly inform Ahana about his actual profession though. Not even if they ever get married.
Ahana’s face glowed up. “Oh, so I assume you must love children?”
“Yes, I do,” he said.
As soon as the topic of children was broached upon, Kabir couldn’t help but start gushing over Vansh and Riddhima’s kids.
“They are absolute darlings, I tell you! Did you ever meet them?”
Ahana shook her head.
Kabir continued unfazed, “I’m sure that once you meet them, you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from adoring them. Rhea, she’s such a little drama queen. She has completely taken after Vansh. And Reyansh is her complete opposite…..”
Vansh slammed his hand against his head looking at Kabir’s nonchalant chatter about Reyansh and Rhea.
“Instead of thinking and planning about his and Ahana’s future kids, he’s busy blabbering about other people’s kids.”
Kabir later realized that he had gone too overboard in his excitement. He started apologizing for it.
“It’s okay, Kabir. I did not feel bad at all. It just shows your love for them. Moreover, a person who can shower so much love upon someone else’s child, will surely be able to love his own child too, much more than this.”
Kabir started blushing at this. Was Ahana indirectly trying to suggest that he’d be a good father to ‘their’ kid, if they ever had one?
Vansh signalled Kabir from afar to hold Ahana’s hand. When he instead paid no heed to him, Vansh grew angry.
“It’s absolutely waste to expect anything from this man,” he grumbled.
Just then, Ahana placed her hand over Kabir’s.
“At least this girl has some sense in her,” said Vansh getting relieved.
Ahana began to speak solemnly, “I’ve been living a lonely life since Dad’s death. But now, I’m tired of this loneliness. I also want to have that someone in my life whom I can share my happiness, my problems and my entire life.
“I’ve met many guys who have taken interest in me. But they all are the same and just fake around.
But with you, it feels different. You seem like an honest and sincere person, who I feel would give your hundred percent to our relation, if we ever have one.
I really seem to like you a lot and would want to take things further….”
Kabir opened his mouth to say something, but Ahana interrupted him.
“But before that, there’s something I’d want to confess. Seven years back, I was in love with your best friend, Vansh, and in fact was even engaged to marry him.
But on the day of the wedding, I was kidnapped and hidden away in a secluded place for two weeks….”
She began to tear up. “Those days were the worst days of my life. I used to spend each and every second in constant fear, dreading what would happen to me. To this day, I don’t remember who kidnapped me and why he did this.”
Kabir’s conscience began lashing out at him. He had never meant to scare the hell and trouble Ahana so much. And for some reason, the tears in Ahana’s eyes, seemed to make him even more guilty. He decided that it was time to confess his crime in front of her.
“I know who kidnapped you that day,” he said slowly.
Ahana sat up straight. “How do you know that? And who is he?”
“Me. I kidnapped you that day. I’m sorry.”
Ahana stared at him in total disbelief, while Vansh and Riddhima looked on with a worried expression.
Kabir hung his head down in shame. “I know what I did with you was absolutely wrong. But trust me, I did not have any bad intention. It’s just that I was the victim of a very big misunderstanding. I cannot tell you the reason for why I did it.
But nonetheless, I’m your culprit and you can give me whatever punishment you want.”
No sooner had he said this, Ahana slapped him. Her eyes were dark with hatred and pain, and she was almost on the verge of breaking down. She stormed off from there.
Kabir looked down, feeling ashamed and hurt.
The people around started ushering amonsgt themselves, looking at the scene in front of them.
Vansh came towards Kabir and started chiding him. “What was the need to tell her all this in the beginning itself? And what was tjis way and place to confess all that on front of her?”
Kabir retaliated back. “Are you mad, Vansh? That girl was beginning to pin her hopes on me, and you wanted me to continue to hide such a big truth from her?”
“But she thinks totally wrong about you. She has no idea why you did that,” said Riddhima.
“Yes, and she’d never know that. You know why I cannot tell her the entire truth,” said Kabir. “It would be considered absolute breach on my part. Let us leave it at this. I want no more discussion on this.”
_____________________________________
Kabir rushed into Suite no. 302 of Blue Moon Hotel. He looked out of breath.
“You said there’s an emergency. What is it all about?”
“Oh nothing. Just wanted to talk about you and Ahana,” said Riddhima coolly.
“You made me come here in a hurry for that?” he asked annoyedly.
“So what else could I do? You’ve been avoiding me and Vansh for the past few days,” she scolded him. “Whom are you trying to run from? From us, or from your own feelings?”
“What do you mean?”
“I know that you have begun to feel for Ahana,” she stated.
Kabir sighed. This was the very conversation he had been trying to avoid for the past few days. He realized that he had been unlucky enough to be bestowed with two extremely stubborn friends.
“Yes. So what?” he said this as if it was no big deal.
When Riddhima looked up at him questioningly, Kabir said, “I and Ahana have no future. For Ahana, I’m no less than a freaking criminal. The three of us – you, me and Vansh, know the actual truth. But Ahana will never know, she can never know. I’m an Intelligence Officer, and I cannot disclose about my real identity and profession ever in front of her.”
“Don’t worry, Kabir. Vansh has found out a way to explain all this to her…”
He interjected, “Even if she forgives me or is ready to accept me in spite of that, still it won’t be a nice match. Because she believes in honesty and transparency, and I can never, ever be completely honest with her.
I’d have to continue to lie that I’m an ordinary PE school teacher.
And I don’t want to start a relation based on lies. She’s a nice girl, she doesn’t deserve this.”
Riddhima who was quiet until now, decided to speak.
“I know that you are helpless to hide all this from her. But you are doing it for a good reason. Even Intelligence officers deserve happiness in their life, and so do you. Even if is based on lies….”
Just then, they heard the sound of approaching footsteps and the door was opened. Vansh and Ahana were standing in front of them.
Kabir clenched his teeth. He didn’t want to meet Ahana, then why were theses two hell bound on getting them together?
Vansh broke the awkward silence. “Come on sweetheart, I think we better leave and let these two do the rest of the talking. In private.”
Saying this, he led his wife outside, shutting the door behind him.
Kabir observed Ahana. She didn’t have the same hatred on her face that he had seen at the time of their date.
“Vansh told me everything,” she said after sometime.
Kabir flinched. Vansh being an Intelligence officer himself very well knew that they had to keep everything about their profession absolutely secretive. So he wouldn’t onviously do such a callous act of informing everything about him to her. So what exactly did he tell her then?
As if reading his thoughts, she said, “I had always known that Vansh never loved me. But I didn’t know that he never even wanted to marry me. He was trying to fulfill the promise that his mother had given to my Dad at his deathbed.
“Being a man of principles, he didn’t want to be the one backing out from the marriage. Since you were his best friend and knew him inside out, you knew that this marriage would turn out to be a failure. You knew that we both wouldn’t be able to stay happy with each other in a loveless marriage. That’s why you kidnapped me to stop this mishap from happening, right?”
Kabir looked on stunned. So this was the lie that Vansh fed her with. He didn’t find this right.
“Listen to me…”
“No you listen to me, Kabir!” cried Ahana. “I should thank you for saving me and Vansh from an unhappy marriage. Now that I know that whatever you did was for a good cause, my love and admiration for you has increased even more.”
“But…”
Before Kabir knew it, he found Ahana coming closer and kissing him.
Initially, he tried to resist but later reciprocated it back.
Vansh who had been peeping inside with a wide grin plastered on his face, got a good amount of scolding from his wife.
“How shameless of you to peep upon two people getting cozy with each other!”
“I just wanted to make sure that they weren’t slapping or hitting each other again,” Vansh tried to defend himself.
“Now that our work is done, shall we leave?” Riddhima asked forwarding her arm.
Hooking his arm with her’s, he said with s glint in his eye, “Now that we’ve introduced romance in their lives, I think it’s high time that we concentrate on our own romance.”
“Of course. Your wish is my command, My Highness,” she whispered.
Precap :
Riddhima and Vansh spend some romantic time with each other.
That is it for today guys. I wanted to give a glimpse of Kabir’s life too, that’s the reason why I gave this bonus chapter.
The next chapter will be the last one, and will concentrate upon Riddhima and Vansh, and their life hereafter.
Peace out!
