Celebs mourn the demise of Parineeta director Pradeep Sarkar
Pradeep Sarkar, who directed popular movies like ‘Parineeta’, ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’, ‘Mardaani’ and ‘Helicopter Eela’ among others, is no more. The industry is mourning his loss, and celebs including TV actors Rajeev Khandelwal and Namit Das, too, paid condolences on social media and penned heartfelt notes.
Actress Namit Das praised Pradeep’s work and the bonds he created on set with everyone. He wrote, “Dada, what sad news to wake up to. When we did Lafangey parindey, we didn’t have smartphones, so I don’t even have a good photograph with you—nothing to hold on to. But the unsaid remains strong in relationships when people pass onto the other side. The bond that I created with the people on your set remains strong. That was your most important quality to bring like-minded people together and then let them flower like no one else.”
He added, “Here are some moments that remain fresh from the summer of 2010 when we made the film. You will always be with us intact, just as you were, narrating a poem through every visual you created. Rest in peace, Dada. You and your stories will be missed dearly.”
